not a lot, we have most things we need, and if at anytime we need anything throughout the year..then we buy it. So we agreed this year to spend the money we normally spend on Xmas tat on a holiday, time together in a nice place is much much more precious than any crap Xmas tat neither of you need
ah well best laid plans and all that, looks like I am now buying her a new central heating boiler....happy dayssmile

last year she wanted a new coal bucket, and was delighted with the antique one I got her! So this year, following the theme, I got her a coal bunker! Nice hand made wooden one, no concrete crap!!

Oh, and a new hearth rug as the old one is knackered

Well after we mutually agreed that we would spend the money on a romantic (child free) weekend break away, we've both bought each other presents as well rolleyes

I did make the mistake many years ago of taking her "let's not get anything and go away instead" response very literally and not buying a single present. I think of this as a valuable lesson to her of say what you mean, at the time she did not! However she did drop hints this time about it being nice to open something on Xmas morning.

So this year she has perfume, pj's, make-up, undercrackers, a device to stop her losing her keys, and various bits of chintz and tat (or antiques and trinkets as she likes to call them) from her favourite shops that she likes to clutter the house with. Plus a couple of fancy new champagne flutes for us to drink Buck's Fizz from at 6am when my son wakes us up.

All of which would have paid for a weekend away which we'll still be doing anyway laugh

We've a wee 20 week old so I made a photo album of the year so far. Think she'll like it.

Not sure a 20 week old will be able to appreciate it just yet.

We aren't together and are only dating, but decided to be safe and get something. Went for a Jack willis scarf. Jack Willis being her favourite brand. Best thing is ordered it today in the sale and saved £20. Sadly it won't be here tomorrow when I'm seeing her next though.

She got socks and a cardigan from Iceland , a dansk kobenstyle enamel pot to replace the one she broke a while back, and a fancy ceramic bowl to replace the one the dishwasher broke a while back.

I also got us these ( in the true spirit of PH), but she's not interested:

Oh and a 2week holiday on Italy as it's her 40th this year
