Anyone had a paranormal experience with a spook, spectre or ghost?
No, because they don't exist.

Bit like unicorns, Seaweed's car and a NIP for 32 in a 30 zone.

I never, ever used to believe in them.. despite my father working at a crematorium for a time. He always used to tell stories of what he experienced which I scoffed at, but as I got older I realised the stories were exactly the same, no differences, embellishments etc. My dad is not the exaggerating type either. It wasnt until I experienced a couple of things I can not adequately explain did I start to think otherwise.

I am now pretty convinced 'ghosts' are as real as you and me are right now, but I simply find it interesting scientifically rather than spouting off to all and sundry about there definately being a spirit world or afterlife etc. I do realise some of you will scoff as you read this, thats fine.

Theres been a few experiences now, but one really sticks in my mind. Me and my girlfriend shared a house with a couple of other students. One day myself and another of the guys was in the kitchen talking, only us two in the house, and facing each other probably about 6 foot apart. On the microwave which was on the counter in between us, there was a tablespoon. Inexplicably and without warning, this tablespoon lifted straight off the microwave, over the lip of the counter at about face height, and then dropped straight to the ground, all in about 1 second. I was stunned. We stopped talking, looked at each other and just said "did you fking see that!!??" I picked it up after about 3 seconds expecting to find fishing wire on it, but no, just a normal spoon. By the way, the microwave was off. Mock me all you wish, but that it the god's honest truth. I would love to be able to explain it, but cant

Maybe it fell off. Gravity and all that...

Either way, not knowing why is no reason to attribute it to spooks.

What evidence for ghosts have you uncovered during your examination of the scientific studies?

I've had experiences I can't explain and so have several of my friends, the majority of whom are reasonably well educated folk of a very grounded nature. Tie dye T shirts and beads are not in evidence by any means.

This is not a place I would ever consider discussing any of them however as the crowd on here are ready with the pitchforks at the slightest opportunity so best left unwritten.

Apparently, his dad telling him the same story over and over again.

Sounds similar to religious indoctrination.

My sister was having a meal with one of her new work colleagues few years back when all of a sudden her work colleague looked across to the other side of the restaurant & told her that her brother was over there! My sister obviously looked to see where I was but couldn't see me & asked where exactly was I as (she used my name) as she couldn't see me! Her colleague said no not him but your other brother Lee......... Lee was our step brother who was killed many years ago at a very young age & this female had only recently met my sister through work & wouldn't have possibly known about our other brother Lee! Strange.....

So have most people. But to go from that to "paranormal" or "supernatural" is a ridiculous leap. Why can't "experiences you can't explain" be "experiences that have a logical and rational explanation that you don't know"?

Why do these kind of threads always attract the same people with the same comments that ultimately close threads down! The op has asked a genuine question & some people have answered with or without reasoning but yet again the PH troll's have nothing better to do than ridicule people who genuinely want to contribute to this thread!

Because anyone who claims that their friends are in touch with the dead or that they have ghosts in their microwave moving spoons about deserves to be ridiculed?

I expect that they'll be someone along soon talking about the power of prayer or homeopathic medicine

But the op has asked this question so people should respect other peoples threads regardless of how silly they seem to you! Don't like, don't contribute simples.
