Sad though it may be to some of you, you will have to acknowledge that by luck or not (however you see it) you haven't been exposed to any situation you haven't understood.
This is a totally unwarranted assumption, many of us will have been exposed to situations we didn't understand, however for many the default response is "That was weird, what was that all about?" not "Woo!".

Depends on the situation doesnt it?
Whos saying woo? I'm not. I'm saying there are unexplained things resulting from aspects I (we) dont yet understand.

On the one hand we have official repudiation from every police force after a FOI request, explicitly including the force you suggested actively used them.

On the other hand we have your word, based on a conveyed rumour by a single officer in one department in one force.

If we were to take the balance of probability, I think we could dismiss it with a degree of confidence.

OK, that's more eloquently put, use that.

Your posts started out as crazy, then deteriorated, before going downhill, and now they've taken a turn for the worse.

No such "unexplained things" are likely necessary when incomplete information linked with an unfortunate human propensity for pareidolia will suffice. William of Ockham's device should be employed long before growing a beard of woo.

(turned into a long post - will probably regret posting it, but heh here goes)

I mentioned this on the Science forum some time ago and was roundly laughed off it. But nobody offered a satisfactory explanation as to what it is I saw, so, for me, it's still a mystery.

Now... I'll preface this by saying I absolutely do no believe in;

Aliens (visiting Earth)
Ghosts / Spirits / Monsters
Religion (I mean, obviously it's a 'thing' but I don't believe in God(s))
Kubrick staging the Moon landings

I absolutely believe in science, and the laws of physics etc. I find the paranormal fascinating in that it's a symptom of the natural world affecting humans in novel and not-easily-explainable ways... such as standing waves leading to ghost sightings. Ditto sleep paralysis. Stuff like that.

Anyway.

Off I go last year up to the countryside to try to photograph Perseids and spot ISS flying over. I'd just pulled up and got out the car when I spotted the ISS - which was amazing timing! So I then set about trying to photo the night sky and capture me some meteors... which was a total disaster. Couldn't focus the camera and every photo was absolute st. Never mind - live and learn.

But what stood out, as I resigned to the fact that I'd have to rely on memory not pictures and just sit back to watch the show, was a little red dot traveling across the sky in a seemingly erratic manner but across a clear trajectory. The 'dot' was about the size of what Mars might look like on a good day. It was travelling at about the speed of a satellite, but coming from the South, headed West, then curving off towards the North. At first I thought it might have been a Chinese Lantern, but they die out quite quickly (we set some off for my cousins birthday about a month later - which made me question again what 'dot' could have been, given a lantern was my only logical explanation). This was in the sky - and covered a huge distance - for say, 7 - 8 minutes? Planes cant change direction that quickly, nor can helicopters. There are precious few insects can illuminate themselves to that degree (let alone fly in that manner) in the UK and the sun / moon were long since gone (which excludes large birds - also, birds don't fly like that). Laser pens would - at that distance - move far more erratically and could not cover the distance that this did.

I tired closing my eyes, looking away, and taking another look (to discount my imagination) I tried focusing on a star and watching through my peripherals to ensure I wasn't seeing spots or whatever. I even tried videoing it - but my iPhones low light video is dreadful (plus I had it set to 60fps, which just refuses to absorb light). Even ran the video through an editor to increase the exposure, but, as these things work, all you get are red dots making up digital noise.

To get an idea of how it went; load up a star field desktop picture, then try slowly drawing a semicircle with your mouse cursor dodging the stars as you go. Imagine you've had a drink, though, and it's a messy semicircle.

Has baffled me.
Really though? You seem like a thoughtful kind of chap. Strikes me that it is one of two answers to this problem:

1)You saw some aliens flying in a Chinese lantern like spaceship or
2) You saw some Chinese lanterns that lasted for a little longer than you thought that Chinese lanterns usually last.

Now I don't want to jump to conclusions but I think it is just possible that your lantern longevity expertise might not be perfect?

It's not just that side of things Andy, it's some people's ability to know things they 'can't' possibly have known. I had a large amount of cash stolen 4 years ago - the proceeds of selling a car. Stupidly I hadn't banked it and it was in a bag semi hidden. The only people with an alarm code were the two Polish cleaners. I racked my brains but they were the only suspects. I've recounted on another thread how useless the Police were, they couldn't even get the address right and took 8 weeks to interview the girls as they waited for an interpreter to be free despite them speaking very good english. I had many sleepless nights with it going round and round. Had I missed something had the boiler been serviced had I left the doors unlocked and all were no's. In that time I went round in circles and I eventually decided to phone my psychic friend who I hadn't spoken to for about 3 years as he lives an hour away and our paths don't cross. I said hi it's me, 'oh' he said, then 'you've got to let it go mate'. I hadn't even explained why I was calling. Anyway I then just said I've had a burglary, and that was all. He says 'how long will it take you to earn it again' - I hadn't mentioned the money at this stage. I said a few months so he says just move on. I said have you any idea who... 'just move on' he says. So I said look pal I'm going round in circles as to who - do you have an idea? He VERY reluctantly says 'she's tall, blonde and has a strong accent. But just let it go you'll get nowhere'

I bet V6's 'psychic' mate just says "I knew you were going to say that... wink " after everything he says.

Ignorance and reliance on crap information from 2006 wont get you anywhere chap, so to avoid you being clueless any further I'll repeat in case you missed it while getting over excited:

Very doubtful it was in the station and they were all quite excited by it. Could it possibly be something on the internet asking Police Forces a 'difficult' question (10 years ago) has in the scheme of things been answered accordingly? Nooooooo the internet he lie.

So, the fact that the information on that website is from over 10 years ago just shows how things have changed. Unless lying has increased of course so maybe there should be a FOI on that. See:

Amazing how a herd instinct has an effect on peoples posting.

All the no sayers may one day eat their words all thats needed is an event they themselves cant possibly fathom with current 'science'
You have mocked every account on here and think youre all extremely clever but all its really shown is your level of ignorance of the wider world outside of doing hurried inaccurate internet searches to find out what you could already be aware of.

As regards my tone its merely a reaction to the continued rude insistence that true accounts are lies by the ignorant on a subject out of their comfort zone. This has itself served the purpose to prevent many others posting accounts on here and so defeating the OP's original question.

Guess what All? You clearly don't know everything.

But we do know about recessive genes. A fact you continue to ignore when trotting out your "psychic powers are inherited. We all used to have the ability but most have lost it, it's a recessive gene" drivel.

If paranormal activity was caused by 'ghosts' or by people that have died, wouldn't we see an increase of paranormal activity year on year, as the amount of dead increased?

And with the advent of technology/ smartphones , wouldn't this increase be more easily evidenced considering everyone has a camera on them 24/7 now?

Everyone's still waiting for evidence... and there still hasn't been any.

biglaugh You are not right in the head.
All those articles are is "This psychic claims to have helped police." The sum total of evidence of his helping is the blokes own words.
Once, it appears, a policeman might have asked him to help. That policeman is someone like you who has drawn a dead end and believes in worms that turn into horses that fly off into space.
