Many years ago, I had an original iPod on a dock connected to my hifi.

One night I came home from work late, chucked in in the charging dock and went to bed. About 4 hours later I was awoken by Perry Como's Papa Loves Mambo blaring through the house at ear splitting volume.

Even then my initial thought wasn't 'ghost' but more 'serial killer setting me up to run through to the lounge to investigate' but I dismissed that quite quickly, went to the lounge and switched it off.

Was it a ghost, or was it simply that my amp was always on and the iPod had some sort of power glitch that made it start playing?

The more I think about it, the only logical answer is ghost, isn't it? TBH, you can't really comment as you haven't brushed aside the veil to the world of the supernatural in the way I did that night.

The other was a cousin of a friend and was less aggressive with it, she told me my aura was light blue (I think, I'd had a bit to drink) and gave no dire warnings about my spiritual well being. I've certainly not become a better person in between the events, assuming that blue is better but less slimming than black.

On the one hand we have official repudiation from every police force after a FOI request, explicitly including the force you suggested actively used them.

On the other hand we have your word, based on a conveyed rumour by a single officer in one department in one force.

If we were to take the balance of probability, I think we could dismiss it with a degree of confidence.
Ignorance and reliance on crap information from 2006 wont get you anywhere chap, so to avoid you being clueless any further I'll repeat in case you missed it while getting over excited:

Very doubtful it was in the station and they were all quite excited by it. Could it possibly be something on the internet asking Police Forces a 'difficult' question (10 years ago) has in the scheme of things been answered accordingly? Nooooooo the internet he lie.

So, the fact that the information on that website is from over 10 years ago just shows how things have changed. Unless lying has increased of course so maybe there should be a FOI on that. See:

I gave you the opportunity for reasoned, sensible debate. I extended to you a degree of courtesy, which probably wasn't deserved given your behaviour thus far on the thread. Now things have changed and I'm inclined to give proportional response.

All of the articles you linked to give no evidence of the police enlisting the help of psychics or hard evidence that information by psychics led to an arrest. In fact, a couple of the articles explicitly state its a nonsense.

I am now very much of the view that you should be visiting fewer psychics and more psychiatrists. Seriously, get help, you're f*cking bonkers.

If paranormal activity was caused by 'ghosts' or by people that have died, wouldn't we see an increase of paranormal activity year on year, as the amount of dead increased?

Depends how it works.
When I asked a few questions, much came back. Some explainable, some not.

I was always led to believe that the things we call"paranormal" like thinking we saw a ghost is probably people who have died tragically or unexpected! They are supposed to be "lost" if you like....

SO many theories. Possibly many dimensions.
I think I am sort of on board with our consciousness/self/us being our electrical signals, and when the electrical signals die due to brain death, that goes away. Doesn't exist.
But I have read various books on dimensions, zero point energy, all manner of things that are cutting edge, or beyond cutting edge, or interesting things on quantum theories....and then my own personal experience happens, and I look for similar and come across many many similar things.
Even though I didn't think ghosts as beings in their own right existed, I did sort of subscribe to the 'certain actions embedded on time-space like vinyl' sort of idea. Because who knows how stuff works at the quark/flavour level. But recently now, who knows. I'll just keep reading and listening. To people worth listening to anyway.

Possibly some sort of left over energy maybe, goodness knows. The church at Oradour is very calm though despite what happened there, the whole village is very peaceful. Those that can see things seem to have to be 'in the grooove' it doesn't happen all the time. No one will stay in the office late as it's converted mansion and part of the landing feels very odd everyone notices but I've come to the conclusion it's because six doors open onto it so feels unusual stood there particularly when it's dark.

This morning my wife's new Sonos system suddenly started blaring rock music at full volume when I was alone in the house - nearly crapped myself as I was sitting near the main speaker when it happened! 2 minutes later I got a text from my youngest (at school) saying "Do you hear music?" smile

Will kill him later, didn't know that you could access via the web.

That is odd, any evidence of rectoplasm? If the phantom motion was accompanied by an ungodly stench I'm afraid a rectorcism is the only option as I believe either you or your toilet is possessed by a pooltergeist.

Once when I was a young boy I was wandering through some woods and I saw an eerie sort of fog ahead of me. There was a man sitting down on a bench, smoking a pipe, and this fog looked like it was attacking him. I was terrified and ran away, and to my knowledge that poor man was never seen again.
I think about that a lot as I grow older and more alcoholic and the other night I suddenly remembered that this fog had morphed into a ghostly monk wearing sunglasses with wasps for nostrils and lobsters for hands.
I am the most sceptical person about the paranormal but I now realise that I have seen the fourth dimension . Try and explain that on with your so-called science

And with the advent of technology/ smartphones , wouldn't this increase be more easily evidenced considering everyone has a camera on them 24/7 now?

He's answered that earlier in the thread.

"That's our world, not theirs".

Also explains that items that move mysteriously from one place to another never do so in the millions, if not billions, of shops, offices, warehouses and homes covered by CCTV.

Convinced now?
That was me, not V6.
Sorry.

There's so much drivel spouted that it's hard to remember who came out with what nonsense.

With all due respect this thread has gone rather silly, pretty much like most of the haters on here! School holidays aren't for a while yet so slightly confused by all this.... Only explanation I have come to which believe it or not isn't paranormal is you all must be really bored whilst your wife is up stairs banging one out over her Daniel O'Donnell poster? tongue out
