I don't think the cause of death was explosive decompression. I may be wrong.
It was hardly the same profession for 50 years either but yes you probably are correct.

The late Graham Hill's wife ( and mother of Damon) Bette Hill has passed away. She was always seen on the pit wall with a timing board and lap chart. RIP.

Funny thing is I had the opposite impression the one time I met him. Prior to that I must ad mit that my thought was knob - but he was a good laugh and not at all up himself (unlike Bill Oddie met at the same event)

Mrs G also met him and said what a nice bloke he was.

Given that 'Cheggers' had well documented issues with alcohol dependency, then I'd humbly suggest that he himself might have admitted that at times he could be a bit of a knobhead. Just a thought.

I still enjoy watching On Any Sunday every once in a while "3 or 4 year intervals".

Ironic he died on a Sunday too.

Gonna have to watch the DVDs (again!).

Judas sold him a HP Jornada 300 pocket computer in the 90s. We met him in Leicester station. Lovely man. Really sad to hear. frown

Heinz Wolff was one of my heroes growing up.

Great scientist and great man!

From the BBC website ... "Friends and colleagues also recalled his love of practical jokes, particularly one instance when he arrived at his 80th birthday party on a scooter propelled by fire extinguishers". smile

RIP Professor Wolff.

I'm going to dig my copy out too. Filmed before I was even born it's a snapshot of a different world.
