Why do all the best ones have to go, while some others just seem to drone on forever?

No one is forcing you to participate or even read, Eric.
I WANT to read - for the civilly written and conducted obituary elements. There is an element of that on here which is why I come to this thread

What I DON'T want to read are the nasty minded wish lists - which crop up from time to time.

Is that a barbed comment at me?

Thanks chap - it's nice to know one is appreciated.

PH really has a nasty little fetid element about it these days at times.

I think it was a gentle nudge to MBH.

And in 7 days you can relax and it will all be over for another year.

It's basically done now.

I do feel that expressing a desire for a fellow PHer to peg it in preference to some fairly low key celebrity is a bit off. In all my years on PH I've never seen another PHers make a comment like that - joking or otherwise.

I just thought it was a bit off and a bit unnecessary.

For what it's worth, I agree with you.

I didn't read it like that tbh Eric, I read it as he would rather you didn't post in this thread/on PH.
That's a lot different to what you were thinking.

Well, maybe it was badly worded and open to misinterpretation.

Of course I could chose not to read this thread - but I actually would like to read and contribute to the thread as it is the "semi-official" obituary thread on PH. On that basis, it could be informative and interesting.

On the other hand, it also a bit of a magnet for those who want to post distasteful comments from those who would like to wish death upon people they don't happen to like - which I think is pretty uncalled for and rather demeaning.

Of course not, I was just taking the p**s out of MBH . It wasn't intended as a barbed comment aimed at anybody, sorry you thought it was.

Just my usual evening ramblings and warped sense of humour coming into play wink

I think you're misjudging the intention of the thread somewhat Eric. It's called "First to pop off...............2017" so straight away you can expect the comments to be somewhat mischievous. For full blown Eugoogalizing, I'm sure you'd find individual threads in the news section, for when said person dies.

Even so, can we please make a specific exception for that really nice Mr Blair who seems to feel that we need him......

Fantastic actress and an early crush from my youth. Many hours spent watching the MTM show.
