Ordered a "family sized" pizza whilst in the states and the box was so big it had to be turned on its side to fit through the bloody door frame. 32 inch monster collosal fat bd it should have been called, not family size.

The sellers pics didnt show it next to anything to give an idea of scale.......

On holiday in Poland a couple of years ago. After travelling all day we met up with the rest of our family for dinner in Gdansk (on the north coast). Looking through the menu I ordered what I thought was a starter, the English translation being something like 'Soup served with a bread bowl'.
I wasn't expecting a full loaf of crusty bread, hollowed out, filled with soup and the top of the loaf put back in place. Slightly excessive on it's own, but it was served alongside the burger and chips I'd ordered as my main course biggrin

Same as op, I ordered 2 large pizzas in Barbados to our hotel on the last night. They must have been 40 inches in diameter. What was bad was the tiny bin in the bedroom we had to get the boxes and left over pizza in.

Not me but reminded me of this

Which features the best line in the whole of TBBT, when Penny describes it as looking something Elton John would use to travel in the Everglades.

I once bid on a 48" crt tv on eBay not expecting to win. Unfortunately I won at 99p. I asked a mate with a car if he could go and collect it with me and he obliged wondering just how much tv 99p gets you. Well it turns out a 48" crt tv is bloody massive and weighs a ton!

We barely managed to get it into the back of my mates mk5 fiesta but only by putting the front seats as far forward as possible. This meant for the journey home my head was pressed against the windscreen and my mate was pressed against the steering wheel more than any pensioner you've ever seen driving!

Things didn't get easier once back at my parents house. Even with 3 people we struggled getting into the house and my dad wouldn't help us any further so getting it upstairs was even harder. We had the genius idea that pushing it would be easy once the tv was at the same angle as the stairs. Unfortunately it didn't go to plan and it caught the edge of every step meaning I had to climb over it (it was literally as wide as the staircase) and lift it over each step as my mate pushed it. By the time he got about 3 quarters of the way there he looked like he was going to pass out and fall back down! Luckily we got to the top and then rolled it into the room as we were so knackered from carrying it around.

Luckily it worked as we hadn't tested it at until it was in the room!
A 48" CRT?

I didn't think they made them that big, I worked at Comet in 00/01 just when plasma TV first started becomming more common in shops and at the time we sold a 36£ CRT Toshiba. The picture was amazing but my god it was heavy, the box was huge and you'd need a van or big 4x4 to get it home in.

Also a pizza - ordered a pizza when we reached Orlando for holiday in October, and instead of being a traditional pizza the bloody thing had a pastry crust. Basically it was a DEEP pizza in a pie.

As you say, no wonder they are so fat.

My next door neighbour bought two 42" plasmas when they first came out - they had a tuner and all the electronics in a separate box about the size of a PC tower case. They were 11 grand each yikes

Yes, one of our friends bought a Plasma like that and it was 50" or something. Best part of £10k. Picture quality is absolutely terrible, 15 years on, but it didn't matter at the time. It was flat!

A housemate of mine at Uni bought a deck chair off Amazon and didn't shut up about it for the few days until it arrived.

As you have probably guessed it was one of those tiny phone holder ones. He was properly disappointed. Backwards I know.

Chevy Suburban.

I actually thought the 5.3 litre V8 needed a bit more grunt. I think it could do with a 6-litre.

Its averaged 12 MPG, so will drink just over 260 Gallons through my trip eek

Glad im not the only one with the Pizza's. smile

Actually just googled the GMC's spec, its the SLT trim ive got, so its got a 6.2L V8 with 420 BHP!, no wonder it goes so well smile

I once bought 12 square metres of turf to patch up our front lawn. By reason of total idiocy I didn't get them to deliver. I rocked up to the supplier in my Alfa 156 to find a mountain of turf waiting for me. By the time I had filled the boot, the back seat and the passenger seat the car was on its bumpstops and I still had a couple of rolls I had to leave behind.

Reminds me of the time we ordered a treadmill, missed the delivery so had to drive to the courier depot near Southampton (TNT I think). After donning the mandatory hi-viz to cross from the security gate to reception (all of 20 yards), and waiting forever for our turn, we were allowed to bring the car inside to the loading bay. After a bit of shoving and ripping of the packaging we finally got it in the car, and I spent the 45 minute journey home with my face about 3 inches from the windscreen as the seat was so far forward. Not much fun on a busy M27/A31

Anyway.....

put up a sign outside the house " Free Top Soil bring a wheelbarrow (any chocolate donations welcome) " Surprisingly the soil had gone within 2 weeks and I had loads of chocolate ! smile

On a stag trip to Prague we decided to eat in a chinese. After consuming far too many beers over the day I decided to order a vodka and coke. I had difficulty in explaining I was wanted a large vodka and coke and resorted to mime. When the drinks arrived I received a pint of vodka accompanied by a small glass of coke.

As it was a stag do I unfortunately drank the vodka down in one......

Typo.
36" was about the limit...even these weighed about the same as a small car, you'd need a crane for a 48"!!
