Having a night out in Manchester in a couple of weeks (Saturday night) and wanted to know where is good to go?

Some decent bars with nice people in and clubs?

We are into house music (Funky house, tech house, etc).

I went to Manchester years ago and think we did the bars on Deansgate(whitworth road?) is that still the place to be?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

I've done both, thankfully only Liverpool once last year.

Manchester wins hands down, far FAR better. Liverpool is a hole in comparison.

Fixed that for you, Manchester is truly a sthole for a night out, psychotic knuckle dragging blokes and slappers bussed in from the boondocks of Wigan and Rochdale.

If you want something a bit different, try The Junkyard.

Its a crazy golf nightclub. Sounds unusual (it is), but went on my stag do and it was utterly hilarious. You basically get tanked up whilst playing crazy golf. There's decent music and a bit of a dancefloor too. And because you're actually doing stuff, you engage a lot more people in conversation. Its a great night out.

This. It's an awful place. I've never met more small minded people than those in Manchester.

There is a bit of everything in Manchester. Personally I don't rate the northern quarter, but lots do. I find you get a lot of oddballs and students.

I like the bottom end of Deansgate (Cloud 23, Epernay, Opus 1, The Alchemest), however my idea of a fun night out is a few quiet drinks in a bar followed by a meal and then probably another couple of drinks in another bar and home before midnight... biggrin

Spinningfields is good for this.
