Locally we have an "Artisan Market" and to be fair, there is some nice stuff but I avoid it now as end up spending a load of money on some expensive and weird cheese, some deeply mediocre beer, Chilli sauce I never end up eating, some drastically overpriced sweets and she usually buys a bit of driftwood with a picture on it or some nonesense.
I can relate to this. They're clever though, you get sucked into the atmosphere of it all then get home with something thinking "what the fk am I supposed to do with this now".Wacky Racer said:
Indeed.
Anyone who spends more than £100 on a watch needs to give their head a wobble.
My last watch cost £6 and lasted twelve years..
Same with cars. A friend bought an old Mondeo for 500 quid 10 years ago and is still serving him well - quite why anyone thinks spending £50k or £100k on a car is acceptable is mad.Anyone who spends more than £100 on a watch needs to give their head a wobble.

....and have you seen the size of houses some people live in. And the holiday's they take?

There was one of these in Newcastle, of all places. You'll never guess what happened to it... zb said:
That's the worst one so far on this thread. Also should be in the 'things that exist but shouldn't' threadzb said:
I quite like the idea of that, but I bet they charge similar prices to alcoholic drinks, despite not having to pay the duty. Why, though, would they bother with alcohol free lager? Surely nobody actually drinks lager for the flavour, given that they all basically taste the same?

A guy who goes in my local drinks Becks Blue shandyWhy, though, would they bother with alcohol free lager? Surely nobody actually drinks lager for the flavour, given that they all basically taste the same?
Either way, I reckon that most pubs offer soft drinks too so just go to one of those.

I see your problem there. You're drinking crappy InBev brews. Why, though, would they bother with alcohol free lager? Surely nobody actually drinks lager for the flavour, given that they all basically taste the same?
If you drink quality lagers, especially European pilsners, there is a whole world of diverse flavours out there.

I think Stella is quite nice, San Miguel I find a bit sweet and the cooking ones are generally forgettable but good with a curry, Peroni is ok but to be honest I think it tastes the same as Stella, as does Becks, Budvar etc, not really that much to separate them.
Stella just has an image problem, the drink itself is a fairly decent full bodied lager, nothing exceptional but a step above Fosters, Carling etc, I think a Corna can be rather pleasant on a warm day, I mean, come on, bitter on a hot day ? its fine in winter but when its warm, no chance.
Easy to get snobbish and I have tied pretty much every beer in our local palace of beers, The Bottle Stop in Bramhall but I know what I like, I dont get snobby about beer.
Cafè Nero. I mean its nice but I always feel hard done walking out £7 down from an 'OK' coffee and fancy pastry.
I also absolutely hate going into jewellers. Could be because I'm young and not the most well spoken but I always feel like I'm being treated with contempt even when I'm about to put a few hundred £ down. I love watches but have taken to buying exclusively online, not for the marginally cheaper prices but for the genuinely better buying experience.
