It might be a generational thing for me but I am just a fan of end of 80's and 90's sneakers.

My favorite are the
-Nike Air Trainer I and II ... not a big fan of the III

-Nike Air Tech Challenge as I have been a great fan of Agassi

-Reebok Pump Court

I never liked the Huarache.

Snap wih the Mallisons, and also the grey tee. I'm a bit of a sucker for Hip in Leeds, been shopping there for about 18 years. The manager asked what trainers I was getting when I went to grab the tee, when I said none he brought down some Mallisons... the rest is history. And they were giving people that were good customers the presentation boxes

Obviously as I'm a bit of a nut/collector, so just the back story was enough. And then I tried them on, the quality is really nice, and as I've been getting quite a few modern pieces recently (Boost) the air max 1s and these hark back to the stuff I used to get back in the day. Gone half a size up though, could probably have got away with a 7.5, but I don't want to stretch them too much and spoil the classic lines. The suede finish is lush

I like basketball style 'mid' height trainers - but for the first time in ages there is nothing on the market that I like.

This is the type of thing i'd normally go for, although I tend to favour Nike.

Anyone got any experience of the Diadora Borg Elite? I've been looking at them a bit lately, seems to be a bit of a push to reintroduce the model in new colours and suede finishes.

80s Casual Classics have those up for sale at the moment if you're still looking! Not sure if they were meant as a limited or general release, but if you'd been struggling to find a pair that might be just the ticket.

worst "I work for Hyundai" photo ever biggrin

I don't get the love for these. Just look like Adidas saw the (ste) Hurache and decided the exo skeleton thing works...

I did have some "Superstar 2"'s which were a limited edition a few years back.

I like them, but now they are all the bloody same.

There's virtually no colour variations or details. The "miAdidas" stuff is god awful too, suitable only for Ronald McDonald! I just want some detailing. to mark them slightly apart from the regular ones!

I was very happy as I paid the equivalent of £42 for them in the US! I love Adidas Originals, I have hundreds of pounds worth of their clothing.

the shape of the ultras is just weird, kind of banana like with a bit of tug boat thrown in.

I really wanted some of the royal OG's and went to Nike town on the off chance of getting some but they had given out wrist bands to a load of shady looking resellers who'd arrived at 5am or something like that (I suspected they were all mates of the staff as they all seemed to know each other) Apparently they only had 20 pairs - come on, seriously nike? 20 pairs. Do they not want people to buy and wear their shoes? It's daft.

Is there anything anyone can recommend that goes against the back of shoes to provide more support? As mine slip a bit.

If applicable, you could lace the very top eyelet? Failing that, second pair of socks, those little gel heel things women sometimes use with high heels, or an insole.

There are a ton of variations on the Superstar, both general and limited releases. This article does a very good job of listing them from about 2009/10 onwards but even then, I've never seen the Superstar 2 you posted before. Even among seemingly identical Superstars some have the gold trefoil and others the black one on the tongue.

My pick of the general release models is the Superstar '80s DLX, which has the off-white rubber, no padding on the tongue and no gold branding on the side. It mightn't be a totally custom pair, but there aren't nearly as many pairs of those as there are with the padded tongue and gold lettering.

Really annoying isn't it? Don't know if you watched the video, (as we say I think on there) but there is a whisper that they're coming out againin september. Apparently the OG thing was a last minute decision from Nike, so eithercouldn't manage to make enough, or it's just strategy so people go bonkers in September and try get them again...

Any shoe in particular? Some of them have the lace lock if you learn how to use it (the 2 holes next to each other at the top of the shoe)

Adidas Originals, have used the top two holes.. made it a bit better. They're fine just a little loose.
