Smells you like/dislike ?

That smell, and it could be any smell nice or not, that suddenly transports me to a place I had almost forgotten from many years ago. It happens only very occasionally but when it does it is like magic! The only human sense that cannot be recorded, unlike sight and sound and taste and touch, is smell so all smells are 'real' and 'live'. They are so evocative.
Like
Hamsters - they smell of warm sawdust.
Dogs - not the 'dog smell' but if you get a clean, short haired dog they smell a bit like basmati rice,
Petrol or diesel.
Cut grass.
Stuffing trumps (my own)
Slow cooked food when you walk in the house.
Dislike
Sweaty football shirts in pubs/trains
The smell of warm lager on trains
Bad breath
Stale piss
Public toilets that smell of a combination of disinfectant and st.
When your clothes go foisty because they haven't dried quick enough

Hates:
Ever unscrewed the U Bend on a sink or shower? eurgh
Ever removed a toilet and got a whiff of the open soil stack? double eurgh with some retching thrown in.
Have you ever had to rod a blocked sewer? Then you know what a bad spell is especially if you're rodding it from the blocked end so the rods come back out coated up, done that four times now. Cotton buds or wipes are always the culprit.Ever unscrewed the U Bend on a sink or shower? eurgh

Walking through the perfume dept of a store is a hate for me, all those scents infused together, disgusting.
Likes, speedway fuel, newly painted and carpeted rooms, fresh cut grass shortly followed by a rain shower.

I know exactly what you mean; there is a smell that I don't even know what it is that takes me back to being in my first classroom at primary school; crayons or pencils, something like that but can never quite place it. Another smell (some kind of floor cleaning product I think) that reminds me of the local shop I used to go in with my Mum before I even went to school. The strangest one for me though was a time I was working outside on a car when I smelt pipe smoke. I looked around and not a soul in sight (and my car wasn't on fire either . It was probably in my mind though as my Grandad had just passed away and he was the only person I knew who smoked a pipe. It still raises the hairs on the back of my neck if I smell pipe smoke these days.
I LOVE the smell of coffee - but hate the actual drink, or anything coffee flavoured. Does anyone else experience that with coffee (or anything else)? Or just me?
Love the smell of smoke from a log fire
Petrol
Toasted scones (if you've never had a toasted scone before, you're missing out)
Blowing out a match
Hate
The smell of my hands after using the communal boxing gloves at MMA
Bananas (even though I quite like bananas...!?)

I love the smell and taste of coffee but anything coffee flavoured is generally disgusting, I would buy Revels if they put a pea or something , instead of the coffee on.Love the smell of smoke from a log fire
