Translated to old man has a problem with loud exhaust and thinks he is speeding.
There's always one ! rofl
Lets make it 2 then because I thought exactly the same.

I'm not sure if there is a particular age where us men go from fun loving and young to miserable and old. I'm firmly in the old git camp but I've not yet reached the point of chucking chairs on the road in front of people because they are a bit loud.
i don't think it's so much an age as it is appreciating what the car is.

a v6 or v8 sounds glorious, we all appreciate that, even a well sorted 4cyl like the engine in a mates sierra cossie 500 sounds great.

a length of drainpipe replacing the back-box on a scabby old corsa or fiesta is a willy waving exercise and we should just laugh at them, but it grates sometimes. especially if you have very young kids etc.

i am getting old, but the kid (i say kid he's probably 25 smile ) down the road from me who has a fabulous old m3 in mint condition i can live with, saxo boy up the road just needs to fk off.

If you can't track him down to speak to him personally then report him to the police, repeatedly - hopefully with enough complaints from you and your neighbours they'll send a patrol car to be in your neighbourhood at the appropriate time to 'feel his collar'.

If they won't do anything get your local paper involved, write to your MP, etc - get the neighbours to do the same.
Contact the Police. Explain that he is driving in a manner likely to result in an accident. Explain that they need to intervene otherwise you and your neighbours will be forced to take action yourselves. Provide registration, description of car and driver and the time that he drives down your road. Do this in writing / email so you have a record,

Don't be fobbed off.
We had some dhead biker that regularly used to practice wheelies, ride like a tt etc, in our quiet street in Lee Green. A few people reported him and the police managed to get him.

Because councillists are (generally) the type to have stbox cars with stbox exhausts, and not give a fk about who they annoy, wake up, keep awake etc.

Lets face it, anecdotally, you're not going to be kept awake by the nuclear family in the 5 bed detached, where the dad is a Chartered Surveyor and the kids (Toby and Ollie) are apprentices at KPMG immediately post-uni. It will be the insecure unemployed lad (Tylah) with the (permanently) unemployed (on the sick) parents with the £400 Astra and the hole in the silencer, bald tyres and Monster sticker on the boot.

Councils have power to take action against anti social tenants.

Stop trying to be PC for no reason.

Really? I find it quite the opposite. Where I live, there are more 'snobby' kids, let's call them Toby and Ollie......, that have money thrown at them, with fast/noisy cars, that think they are beyond the law, because Mummy and Daddy are quite affluent legal types, financial types, whatever types, that fund the cars and insurance! OK not £400 Astras, although not quite sure why you chose that marque(?) but VXR Corsas, Type R Civics, Daddy's Z4, Mummy's Fiat Abarth.............

I know some 'councillists' (Tylah???), as you call them, and the ones that I know (am I allowed to admit that fact!?!?), actually behave in a manner fitting with society!

Race him for pink slips?

Surely as we are all driving 355d(mapped) or MX5s it'll be an easy race...

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

Antisocial behaviour can be used as grounds to start the eviction process of a tenant. Multiple complaints from multiple people is more likely to get the council to take action than a private landlord due to the cost of the process.
A home owner might get a couple of letters in a similar situation.

Lad where we used to live drove along in 30 limit at about 50 regularly at same time Friday and Saturday, Police not bothered? Their response was "tell us when it's happening" followed by mine of "If you are there BEFORE it happens maybe you'll catch him. Situation ended when he crashed through brick wall of bungalow on bend and ended up in the front room. He then tried to leg it but was detained by a neighbour. Went to court and he was virtually let off due to being in the armed services.

Obtuse?

Yes, I agree, but I didn't realise we were talking about tenants letting from a private landlord, rather than actual homeowners!? I didn't read anything about private landlords and anything about an eviction process, sorry. rolleyes

So, the council can take action against it's own tenants and private homeowners in the area, I get it now. wink

Where do private tenants and landlords come in then?

A long time ago I remember reading on here about someone with a similar problem and again, police were not resourced to resolve.

The OP took an old toy bear, filled it concrete and placed it in the road (near the kerb) during one of the regular cruises. One car tried to run it over and end up with a knackered wheel etc. and the cruises in that street stopped.

Searched but I can't find the post. Not condoning that action obviously as it is dangerous.
