Amsterdam has been notable today in that every departure I have seen has been cancelled. Our arrival in Manchester was around the worst I have seen, I was quite surprised that we did not end up going around... some big wing dips just a few seconds before touchdown.

Looking forward to journey home tonight. Euston - Crewe, Crewe - Gobowen (where?) then drive even further into the sticks. Latest from home is that several approaches to the house are blocked by fallen trees and branches, and power is out which also takes out our water and heating.
Euston and St Pancras are suspended... as is KX Virgin.Went into the kitchen earlier on today to make a cuppa, looked outside the window to the house over the road to see the postman just coming out of the driveway. Just as he got out of it, some of the tiles from the roof of the house starting to blow off and land all in the driveway! Had he been 10 seconds earlier on his round he could be dead!
My willow tree took a bit of a battering today with some long, maybe up to 10 feet long, branches landing in the garden. The cover on the rattan garden furniture was ripped off and it and the furniture blew around a bit.
Mid-morning today I drove to Henley in Arden with the kids. We saw plenty of large branches on the roads and a wrecked and upended trampoline on a hedge.
We had a bit of a close shave. After parking the car on the high street we walked along the pavement then heard a crash behind us. The first floor window above the chippy had been blown out by the wind and the wooden frame, glazing and some render had fallen to the ground. 30 seconds earlier and we would have been under it.
