You're not wrong. Had to play it down a bit for the kids' sake though.

Just had the bd journey from hell, thanks Doris. Dartford Xing shut southbound so 90 minutes getting through that, then the bd M11 was fked at royston. Carried on to A1, copped for all the rush hour st on there, 4 hours in a d still not out of Hertfordshire. On to Leeds, better. 6h45 for 220 miles. Jesus. Glasgow tomorrow, hope that's OK.

I'm not surprised Thelwall was shut. I went over it at about 10:45 and it was pretty dicey. Police were on the hard shoulder a few hundred yards back and I thought they must be preparing to close it if necessary so I must've had a lucky escape from a long delay.

Surveyor, I live in Donny and fly to Dublin regularly. Isn't it a pain in the arse that there's only one flight a day from DSA?! I'm sick of schlepping over to Manchester for my flights!

Good job you didn't come up the M6 then, that's been closed 5 hours, we told the wagon drivers about the height restriction on the diversion route and one of these so called professionals ignored the advice and got stuck blocking the only way round the closure!

Looking forward to journey home tonight. Euston - Crewe, Crewe - Gobowen (where?) then drive even further into the sticks. Latest from home is that several approaches to the house are blocked by fallen trees and branches, and power is out which also takes out our water and heating.
Euston and St Pancras are suspended... as is KX Virgin.
Ah ... bugger.
Just got home after an interesting journey. People were taking to each other on the train so it must have been a proper crisis.

I'll second my respect for the modern Corsa roof. Very impressive when my daughter rolled hers.

Ain't that the truth. I tend to take the Flybe over, then get the train back from Manchester after an evening flight...

Not much room left for delays though until I have missed the last train...

How about LBA? Bit prone to wind closures at this time of year though.

One of the YouTube videos shows everyone evacuating, with their carry on baggage.

We were without power yesterday from 11:30am to 10pm here on th Welsh Boarders. It must have been pretty bad as we often have power cuts but not usually for long.

When we came into Leeds on Sunday that's what it seemed like from the inside but I'm sure it was nothing like as we landed nicely enough with lots of screaming coming from the other passengers and a dab of oppo.

BA at Heathrow. Think he actually went around twice.
