Anyone else watching with interest?

My phone has been dinging away with travel alerts as I'm due to fly Dublin to Manchester then get the train back to Doncaster tomorrow.

So far, I think I'm ok... As long as arrivals don't get stuffed in Dublin (which would obviously knock on to departures).

The South seem to be worse - or at least gearing up to be more affected....

Looking at the forecast the morning should be ok, but the afternoon is touch and go.

Birmingham on the other hand look like it could be very "interesting"!!!!!

There was no Doris last time, other than in a few over-excited tabloids. The MetO didn't attribute the name then, so it's being used for the first time now.

Working from home tomorrow, so I have double checked the gates are bolted so they don't make the occasional bang.
Looks like a bit of weather.
Sad days when even the weather forecast is chasing ratings.

Just some more wind and rain, in a county that has generally windy, rainy weather.

Just luxuriating in a few days in Barmouth at the moment.

It's a bit blowy and wet, but on the whole not exactly Armageddon yet

I'm there on Friday, I'll wave. Tomorrow is Kent to Leeds, leave about 3, home by 730, then Friday is Glasgow for lunchtime, back to Leeds that evening.

You a copper then, or AA? If the former, let me know which bridges you are staking out and around them I'll stick to <78 or whatever the magic figure is now. :-p

Over the past year one of the trees in my garden has started to get a bit of a lean on. I'm wondering whether this new storm (why are they getting names now? And how are we only on the 4th one?!) will be enough to topple the tree. With some luck it'll land in my pond and help expel some of the ste that's accumulated over a few months of disuse.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how the planes cope - I work on the Heathrow site - and it's always nice to see engineering in action. I suspect some of the 767s with the enormous winglets will be impersonating a hummingbird on their way into the sky.
