It's possible that whichever authorities you choose to involve would have to launch a sting type operation to make sure all procedures are followed to gain a conviction.
Trading standards are used to using 'agent provocateurs' in underage selling of cigarettes/alcohol type stings on off licences/pubs etc. which is why I suggested them.

They were supposed to pay me Friday. They didn't. They told me this afternoon payment would be today. Still no money. The horror stories seem true.

Haha, I just had a cheque from them arrive in the post. Cheque is dated the 1st March but the envelope is stamped by RM the 7th. This is contrary to them asking for my bank details 6 weeks ago so they could pay me by BACS. I guess I'll have to wait and see as to its rubber content.

Or they are hoping that the cheque wont be banked,a lot of small cheques never are.

Id check that you haven't got a direct debit mandate set up

Yes most people will bank £200 but they may not bank £20. a dozen or so cheques not banked over a year adds up.
Also it gives them a few more days before the money leaves their account.
