Exactly wink

Youtuber Armoured Skeptic did a good breakdown of MGTOW, one point being "going own way" is not "going own way" if you've got to follow the way that's already been laid down.

laugh good point

Maybe I've been here too long. It's ruined me as a relationship mate laugh
I made me feel better while I was single. However, I tried reading the faffing thread and had to stop.

She's 29, blonde, works in Central London earning a good wedge, enjoys travelling, is pretty straighforward in saying what she likes/doesn't like so you aren't left having to guess, and looks good in a bikini.
... so why is she single?
She saw what happened to her sister? wink
Pretty much this I expect LOL.

But the last chap she was with, decided that instead of saving up his money for a house deposit, he went and splashed £15,000 on a watch and was happy to live in his parent's flat in central London.

So don't be "that guy"
It's not really an issue, is it? While I would prioritise the house before the watch, if he's secure in his parents' flat then good for him.
I'd say that it is catagorically a sign that she was way smarter than him. Blowing £15k on a bracelet to look pretty to strangers before you've got your act together and left home is pretty pathetic and any intelligent woman would ditch a loser like that or rinse him out.

Alternatively expand your search to slightly younger women rather than starting at 28?
Err I'm 38! I know the old phrase of "half your age plus 7" would say 26. But it "feels" a bit young. I sometimes think that 28 as a lower guide is a bit low.

Can't believe no one has heard the "Women are like parking spaces" before. It's an old phrase.

To those wondering. I'm not unrealistic I don't think when it comes to picking a potential date. I have a "type" but I don't stick to it rigidly. I don't expect utter perfection. Yes, looks come into it. But it's the other stuff that matters more.

Free lodging in his own flat provided by his parents? Might as well enjoy life.

Absolutely but don't expect a smart woman with pride to hang around. Grown men still on the teet are only really of interest to women on the make.

Haha. Well, if he's getting the flat free of charge (eventually) why not focus on other things that he values. (Just to clarify, property > watches for me.)

Women want a man with status, stability and money.

Men want a woman who is attractive and likes it up the arse.

Which one is the shallow one?

The collectivist who assumes that everyone who falls within a given category because of the situation of their birth automatically thinks the same as every other person within that category?

I have stuck my knob up very attractive (to me at least) girls bum. Great, two things ticked off the list. But it's not the entire basis for why I liked her. It was never about looks. (they all get old) It was about the combination of other things that she had. Her good and her flaws that made me enjoy spending time with her.

The aforementioned majority. If the guy lost all of those 3 things. They'd drop him. Wants the percentage of Divorce? What's the percentage of divorce initiated by the woman? Remember there's always a better option out there for a attractive girl. It's not true, but it's seemingly the default mindest these days. frown

It's not so crazy as you might think. Patek's tend to appreciate in value as they get older and together with Rolex they can make good investments. He could well be better off with the Patek than he would with an ISA with the interest rates we have these days. He gets to enjoy the watch in the meantime and can sell it for a profit when/if he wants to move out of his parents flat.

He could have bought something "sensible" like a Ford Fiesta 1.5 diesel for £15,000 instead....but it would only be worth half that in three years.

Clever strategy, potentially.

Woman: "We're over. Done. I'm leaving you. But I want half of the value of the flat..."

Man: "Blow me - I don't own it, so you can't have any of it tongue out "

Point somewhat missed.

My wife wonders why I'm so mean to this best friend. I don't get it. She tells stories like I've just recounted and my wife and her mates seem to shrug and go "Oh, Melanie, what's she like" (Name changed to protect the guilty)

She's a fking lying piece of st, that's what she's like, and I'm sure she's not the only one out there, why do people stand up for her? She deserves every bad thing that happens to her!
Why does your wife stand up for her? Which is she her best friend?

Presumably some redeeming features?

It was partially in jest. Partially.

You are only ever going to get a one sided argument in here, therefore I played the other side.
