What was the biggest PH thread letdown ever?
Discussion
The lady at work thread was a let down at the end.
The real time unfolding of the "will or won't he ask her" followed by the immortal "I'd like to get to know you" line, followed by her being in a relationship followed by ... nothing.
Good while it lasted but ultimately disappointing.

I could do a search, or trawl my memory, but the one where the poster pretended to be very wealthy and have a lot of desirable cars, including a Maclaren F1, but it was all made up.
Was that not the birth of the custard thing? Where everyone called bullst but he was actually serious and posted a picture of the mad car with a tin of custard on it?Pistol P duly obliged.
Someone then called Soovy out on his 'cellar' as lived in a flat. No custard pic of the cellar was forthcoming
To be fair he did offer to send Pistol a bottle of wine but he didn't drink so politely declined.
IIRC it was Pistol P's F40 and F50 that Chris Harris thrashed around Anglesey in his Youtube vid.

The Nazi Bunker, there was one recently about a Safe which may be on-going / ended by I've forgotten about it until now.
The worst for me though are often the "Readers Car of the Week" threads, it's not the posters fault, it's PH. Not all of them, but a lot of them are too good be to be true - I LOVE a build thread, one of the best I've ever read was about an E30 M3 built by a guy based in NI (I think) bare metal restoration, glorious way to spend an hour read through 20 odd pages of details and notes and seeing the final car. I also really enjoyed the one about an LX spec TDCI Focus estate that had all the running gear from a Focus ST fitted, brillaint.
PH often comes too soon "A young PHer and his twin Merlin engined MX-5" how much do I want to read that! Only to dive in and discover that OPs bought an MX-5 and maybe removed the dash board and it ends, it's not the OPs fault, because they only started 3 weeks ago. I'm only interested at the end.
