As I said it will not change what I do, it never did in the 70's, but how many now would travel to Egypt? Tour operators are not flying there and the resorts are empty so terrorism has affected many and changed their mind set.
Every year - was there in Oct with the kids. Pool was empty and reef never looked better! Happy days!

Doesn't that sort of prove my point that terrorism has had an effect on Egypt for one example. When the FO give negative advice on how safe a country is terrorists are making ground.

No, no more than I was afraid during the far more ambitious IRA campaigns in the height of the Troubles in the seventies.

It doesn't stop me doing anything but I will admit that on the few occasions a year I need visit London I get the first train out in my direction of travel and change if I have to rather than wait for the next direct train. This isn't because I fear being in a direct attack more because I fear being in a lock down and not able to get home easily.

I'm not afraid of terrorism. I'm afraid of the ideology that inspires a good chunk of it. Some would say an irational fear, a phobia if you would. However, i'd argue that it's a rational fear.

fk you and your apologetics. That sick twisted religion and political ideology has caused problems the world over.

It's killed innocents of every colour and creed imaginable. It's destroyed beautiful pieces of history, it's cowed minorities and left them living in fear, it's demanded a parrallel legal system in countries that have done their very best to live side by side with it's adherents. What more do you fking want?

Ever since that sick warlord burst out of the Arabian peninsular the world has known too many ills because the Arabs had to get their version of the spaghetti monster.

Our paths have probably crossed .
I lived on Uxbridge then locally when I married .
Also lived on Rhinedahlen later in 89/90 .
Family are ex RAF Music Service .
Probably more aware of the signs than most members of the public .
Like all related to the Forces ,I still scan my car as I approach it but not to the extent of a mirror on a stick .
I am not afraid of terrorism but I am "aware" of it .
It's the sense that some have that something is happening nearby but others don't see things right under their nose .
Old man was at West Drayton and Northolt twice (PTI Sgt)

We only got moved to Uxbridge as the MOD were selling off the married quarters at West Drayton, then moved into a NAAFI owned house in Cowley (mum was NAAFI manager at WD) when the house in Uxbridge started subsiding hehe

I have no fear of terrorism with the sole exception that there are some countries I am highly unlikely to visit these days..Egypt, Afghanistan and so on. Tweny years ago there was really nowhere that I would not have visited, but there are now places where I am much more circumspect.

I have zero fear of domestic terrorism. Tragic though the London attack was, the statistical risk of being hit compared to a conventional injury or death in a motor accident is minuscule.

Every time you post you come across as more unhinged, you really think Islam is the only religion responsible for evil acts in the world ever? Even if you do they is no chance of you being a victim whilst posting your bile from your mum's box room you sad pathetic excuse for a human being.

I remember reading an article found in the depths of Google about how piss poor these terrorists really are. They claim they have thousands of "soldiers" throughout Europe, and we get a half arsed attempt at something every few years.

Either the threat is massively over hyped, or alot of work is being done behind the scenes by the intelligence agencies that we don't see.

Deflection?

No. I just don't want to flood the lounge with another long list of posts that fall on your deaf ears. I am not alone in my dislike if not full blown hatred of Islam.

Last time i checked no other religion caused such chaos over a cartoon.

Last time i checked no other religion hunted down and murdered a film maker in the Netherlands

Last time i checked no other religion placed a fatwah on the head of a writer and forced him to seek refuge in our country.

I could go on. I do not fear terrorism, i fear the ideology behind a lot of the ill will that causes terrorism.

No, you're conflating race with this. You're so desperate for me to make it a race issue and not one of ideology. I have as much dislike for any brown adherent to backwards idea as i do for the ginger Choudary hanger on that was arrested a year or so ago.

You think a raising a £few undoes the irrefutable fact that the vast majority of all unrest/terrorism in the world is perpetrated by Islamic extremists.

That won't change as long as you keep calling people racist and refuse to confront the truth.

The Islamic extremist death count site is well known so I won't re-link, but even the Wiki list of terrorist attacks killing >50 is dominated by Islamic extremists.
