Incoming along most of south coast... Looks severe.

Heaviest around Dorset.

At one point I understand this was the largest storm system in the world.

And today's outlook. Hoping it holds off as I have beef ribs to slow cook on the BBQ! Some cells popping up around McElliott which I suspect will hit Thames Valley...

Are there any signs that we might have a reasonable summer this year?
I dare not answer...

Another pleasantly warm week (in the South, anyway), relatively settled but some cloud. A repeat of next week, when the Atlantic comes back in at the weekend. Potential for thunder, certainly some rain.

Bit of a strange one tomorrow, the far SE and East Anglia have potential to hit 28oC - versus something like 17oC in the West, with a band of Atlantic rain travelling west to east and fizzling out.

Potential for severe storms in the hot eastern areas.

Any hint as to where the westerly rain will peter out?

(I'm moving a boat in Poole harbour tomorrow evening and was hoping for a sunset beer.)
Probably one of those events that hard to tell, but I think if it rains it will be around lunch. Will remain cloudy though.

Mon/Tue starting to look really quite grim - exceptionally deep (for June) area of low pressure to pass over the UK. Lots of rain, could be fairly windy for time of year too. 50mph winds and trees in full leaf don't mix well. I'll be in Edinburgh, reporting live hehe

On the flip side, there's a good chance it will drag warm continental air up behind it.

A pleasant week in the south with some big potential for stable summer weather starting at the weekend.

Will keep an eye on it...

Pleased to escape the 34oC heat in N.Y. Say outside in Berksire now with the Weber firepit alight!

When is Ascot week?

Increasingly hot through the weekend - chance of 30 in the SE on Sunday. Not sure how long the heat will last, likely to be a thundery breakdown on Mon or Tues bit not clear yet.

Good signs that this won't be a 2-3 day warm flash like most in recent history. 30 degrees possible on Sunday in the SE, could see 32 on Monday. The fact that we're not seeing a breakdown on Monday means it could hang around for a while...

Warmth and sunshine likely to persist, but it's too far out to be certain. This is the UK, and the Atlantic has a habit of barreling in wink

Weather apps are useful for the closest 24 hours - otherwise, ignore it wink
