But in this case it was the agencies calling out the family photo as being edited, and the refusal to provide an unedited copy, that started the rumour frenzy.

I think their point was that it was an AI fake based on old footage or something... anyway it's massively worrying that people seem to have these beliefs, but the palace have been doing some weird stuff too, you might say.

I saw something on twitter claiming it was AI, then someone said it was just old footage infront of a greenscreen as the flowers aren't moving.

Someone else claiming its odd how Charles has cancer, now Kate and it must be to do with the vaccines.

Yep, I had a mate who used to be like this. Constantly talking about how everything is against us, was always stressed and depressed. The way he was finished his marraige and lost a load of mates too. Sad all round really.

The news agencies didn’t do much until ‘conspiracy theorists’ showed the images were poorly edited the obvious errors.

As a former photo editor, I’m amazed that something so poor was released (twice )

Or a photo editor spotted the issues, given the rules of photography going through agencies that the edits broke, it then got dropped from their lists.

A conspiracy theorist spotting it would have then gone on to postulate some wild ideas as to why it was edited, anything away from simple user error, and usually all completely made up with no evidence but presented as such.

I wouldn't call her a conspiracy theorist on the basis of the above, but I guess she could also be.

Some people have ulterior motives for pushing conspiracy theories, and it shouldn't be a surprise if much of the amplification of the rumours surrounding the Princess of Wales was done deliberately by Russian agents intent on sowing division and uncertainty, as outlined by this BBC report.

Though some people reading that will believe that, precisely because it's being reported by the BBC, it must be a conspiracy theory that Russian agents are behind all that.

Of course we cant rule out foul play this early on, but usually terror attacks are designed to be exactly that, terror that maximises civilian casualties. This happened in the middle of the night, with minimal people around/on the bridge. Why not do this during peak hours?

But yes as usual we have people on social who speak like its the truth, without a single shred of evidence.

I guess it would be as 200 million dollars of trade passes through there on a very frequent basis. Look at the issues the Panama canal caused with supply chains.
