Not sure how many languages it's in but I have double the pain/pleasure doing it in Welsh as well - somehow more difficult as we have (despite popular belief) two extra vowels (W and Y) but fewer consonants (no Q, X, Z, K and V).
How does that work with FF, DD, CH, etc? Do they count as one letter or as two? I wish I'd kept up my Welsh lessons now, but back when I dropped it at school (when I chose my O Level subjects) it really wasn't a cool thing to do to learn Welsh unless it was spoken already at home.yellowjack said:

They count as two separate letters. Give it a go. I know what you mean by it not being so cool in the past to speak Welsh but thankfully things are changing - the language opens a whole new world for you. https://www.rhwyd.org/wordle/Mr_J said:
WTF.
I know everyone has their own strategy and starting word. I have two that I chop and change between at random. But what are the odds that the answer IS my starting word!?
I'm oddly disappointed. I like the challenge of working out the answer.
Nice one. I’d love a few ones and twos as I compete with the family and currently am middling. I know everyone has their own strategy and starting word. I have two that I chop and change between at random. But what are the odds that the answer IS my starting word!?

Page two of this thread contains my two starting words. I got todays in two. I know everyone has their own strategy and starting word. I have two that I chop and change between at random. But what are the odds that the answer IS my starting word!?

Happened to me on 2 May....Story. I know everyone has their own strategy and starting word. I have two that I chop and change between at random. But what are the odds that the answer IS my starting word!?

There are 2315 words in the solution list. I know everyone has their own strategy and starting word. I have two that I chop and change between at random. But what are the odds that the answer IS my starting word!?.
If both your words are in the list, the odds are 1 in 4630 (you might pick the other one that day).
If neither word is in it, the odds are obviously zero.
If one word isn't in the list and the other is - 50% chance the odds are zero and 50% chance it's 1 in 2315
As there are 12972 words in the Wordle glossary, the odds of your start word being a possible solution one day are 2315 in 12972 or about 1 in 5.
I have no idea how to turn that lot into overall odds of right in one!

What really annoys me is the seemingly constant use of plurals for words - seems to be 'dumbing down' (and I know they need to cater to the masses etc...)
I don't remember many plurals in Wordle? bristolbaron said:

I've had a couple of failures in recent weeks. Which has annoyed me beyond reason. One the other day, I'd got three letters (wrong places) on guess two. By guess four I had three letters in the right places. Then I got the last letter but it was pot luck for the first letter. Hairy? Lairy? Fairy? Dairy? Too many possible solutions for the number of guesses I had remaining. Grrr!
But then again, if it were too easy it wouldn't test us. So as frustrating as those failures are, it's good to see that it can still be a challenge.
I was chuffed to bits with Worldle the other day though. First guess was Afghanistan, and I was only 900 or so km out. Boom! Second guess straight in. Plenty of times I've really struggled with Worldle, even resorting to opening Google Maps when I'm close but can't quite get zero in on the country...

I like Worldle, I'm usually pretty good at it, but my brain sometimes gets very confused as there is no scale on the picture. Russia and Andorra will take the same space on the screen, so I can't tell if I'm looking for a big country or a small one.I know...
I need to try it in hard mode for a laugh.

That's where I got them from then! I pick the first at random each day. Pure luck that I picked the right one first otherwise I'd have got it in two like you. And would then probably have been gutted that I picked the 'other' one. yellowjack said:

Unless you’re playing in hard mode, the solution is to use one guess as a throwaway to eliminate letters. 28th March, I faced this: 6 possible answers and 4 remaining attempts!Using the throwaway I guaranteed myself a win. It still took me to the last possible letter to get it right though
