People can become remarkably unpredictable when it comes to teaspoons. Tread carefully.

yes

Indeed, someone always comes along just to stir things up.

I have an algorithm which is pretty close to identifying Blib’s home address based on his teaspoon purchasing habits. Then he’ll regret swinging the ban hammer so ruthlessly.

No, that wasn’t me. I quite liked GG tbh, I know she was a bit abrasive and not always right when she stepped into civil aviation threads but she knew lots about her actual area of expertise (I think) and I found those post interesting. The 777 ETOPS thread was v funny though.

Anyway, PHs is mainly a great place and I still enjoy it.

The point is that when people close accounts and open new ones (which is ok as they’re not banned) there might be all sorts of reasons for it.
Sorry to hear your stalker is still active, always appreciated your contributions and good to see you continuing on PH. GG was quite "strident", can't imagine CRM in civvie street would have particularly worked well with them.

Often it’s when people you’ve perhaps disagreed with get upset and then work out who you are and cause, or threaten to cause you issues, unfortunately there’s a few very vindictive individuals on here. See above one such person celebrating managing to get someone banned who disagreed with him over climate change posts.

Like you said, most PHers are genuine people with a common interest but there are unfortunately some really unpleasant people in here also.

I started a new account after someone contacted my employer and tried to get me sacked. I have a job as an airline pilot and the poster worked out where I worked and told my employer they didn’t think I should be in charge of an aircraft likely based on disagreeing with them in a climate change thread also.

I’d been a poster on here for over 20 years.

Thankfully my employer ignored them but had to tell me about it.

Now he’s worked out who I am again, so I’ll likely close this account and start again or just not bother any more, I’m not sure if it’s worth the potential drama tbh.
It's hard to not upset the cultists. Some of them get irrationally angry and vengeful.

Sorry to hear of that U-boat. Puzzling as to why someone would go to such great lengths for something so stupid? Like, put that energy into sorting your own life out, or do some press ups or something.

Bizarre.

I am pleased you decided to stay after the incident with your employer. I recall you describing it previously.

I bailed from the CC threads years ago, and most of NP&E. It is just so toxic, with little or no discussion, just name-calling from entrenched positions. Any genuine information is just attacked because of it's source, not because it's incorrect.

I'm much happier for giving NP&E a swerve.

We all have people with whom we disagree and sometimes it gets heated defending your corner and often best just to disengage and ignore.

Trying to get them in trouble in real life such as with their employer is just so wrong as to be worthy of permanent sanction by PH and if not then a shunning by everyone else.

There are some who follow around various threads and constantly look for opportunities to have a snipe sometimes bringing up old arguments, they can be irritating too, suppose that's their aim and also worthy of the virtual ignore button.

Sadly these types also exist IRL. There's one couple locally who complained about the parking of someone who was visiting relatives to give support during the last weeks and months of the life of a terminal cancer patient. Even after numerous complaints they were told in no uncertain terms by police to stop being dheads about this, no offences were being committed and stop wasting police time, they then went onto complain to the guy's employer to get him sacked for the rare occasions he'd parked his works van.

Yep I've had that too, back in 2013/14. I work in highways, and was explaining the way cycling provision/design worked. The guy who tried to stitch me up didn't like the design regulations, and thought that it was me that made the decisions (rather than national DfT guidance). He got the city I worked in right, but the actual employer wrong, although I did know the person they reported me to (quite an incestuous industry). Ultimately we both laughed about it, and wrote the guy off as a keyboard warrior lunatic. They are still about on here, posting regularly in PP.

Or anyone who posts exclusively in NPE. Strange people, seemingly only out for an argument/to get personal.

Agreed.

In NP&E (whether you agree/like him or not) Byker28i has been stalked by some tw4t to the extent they contacted his employer, too.

Sad and twisted individuals who I expect would rarely be like that in public/person.

If the recipient of said fkery has concrete proof that an individual has been doing that, PH should be banning the user.

Folk have had permabans for considerably lesser infractions, imo.

The problem is how to find them. Someone anonymously contacts your employer - how do you tie that to user xyz?

There's people I've sparred with on NP&E, but it's an internet forum - I wouldn't dream of tracking them down and hassling them in the real world, and I'd assume the same from them.
For a start, it's too much effort, and I'm a lazy sod.

I can see why people blur their reg plates and so on, but it's a real shame that people find it necessary.

This is it. In my case, I am not 100% certain it is him - the email address had nothing at all in common with the username. 99% sure, and I think a solid, well-based assumption, but it could have been a separate person, not even a member, who read our discourse and took offence on someone else's behalf.

I gather Zedleg has been issued with a permaban for being a fascist or member of the KKK based on something of a witch-hunt.
I thought his ideas ludicrous but sincerely held, but the idea of him being some sort of far rightist is fking laughable.
