Okay lads, it's our last night here. Make the most of it, we're back to the Towers tomorrow. Cold, draughty, indescribable food. Thanks, Bobbers.

Well, I’ve seen worse reviews on TripAdvisor, Dicky, but a little harsh given the trip was comped.

Morning all. And a very jolly Maundy Thursday to the lot of yer.

Morneve All coffee

Although I am yet to caffeinate, as my friend’s mobility scooter picked up a puncture halfway into our weekly Thursday coffee-and-a-chat journey, so we had to double back.

Ah well, at least it was sunny.

Good morning everyone. I’m still here so that’s a good thing. Face still a bit swollen but I’ve a rdv with my doctor later this morning.

Old Gilbert my neighbour has just been round asking to borrow an extension ladder as he has a blocked gutter Downpipe ! It’s only been like it 6 months and now he’s just noticed.
He 86 years old! Guess who will be going up the ladder?

I know it's not much of a refuge Dicky, but it is home.

Good morneve, one an dawl.

Not many of us still standing, by the look of it. Best wishes to Magoo, and anybody else still suffering from excess bodily fluids, etc.

I mokay, just in one of those "can't be bothered to do anything" moods. Sunday looks like the least worst day of the extended weekend as far as weather is concerned, so the New Forest will be having an influx of tourists, and I've decided to do some car-related stuff, including fitting my dashcam, and giving it a good clean. The car, not the dashcam.

Today, we are promised rain, turbocharged by gale-force winds, and we've already had a flood warning. Although these flood warnings are issued at the merest hint of a high tide coinciding with a few drops of rain, so we'll all just Keep Calm and Carry On.

I'll probably keep calm by staying indoors and catching up on a few car magazines. No point in overdoing it.

Remain tranquil, everybody. And continue as before.

Coffee? Don't mind if I do.

Mme M?

I'm off up the road in an hour or so to attempt an oil change on a Ford Sabre 390. Postponed from yesterday as Charlie tripped me in the yard and I spent part of the day waiting for X ray.
Nothing busted thankfully, but a trifle sore here and there.

Best wishes to all here for various ailments and peccadilloes. KBO eh!

I small piece of Gilbert’s tv aerial had become detached and got washed along the gutter and into the Downpipe mouth causing moss build up. All sorted now and we have put the world to rights. I asked him when he was going to plant his spuds and he replied ‘June at this rate of weather’.
Give me the nod when you do then please Gilbert. Oui Magoo!

I'm not surprised your mate's mobility scooter picked up a puncture, what with 23 of you perched on top of it in a human pyramid à la Royal Engineers Motorcycle Display Team! These tiny tyres weren't designed to bear such a load, SM! nono
It's tantamount to abuse, that's what it is, and no mistake.

Gude Moaneve Ailing Trivsters and those who currently are plodding on rewardless.

Sorry to hear about your swelling, Magoo: surely Mme Magoo could do something to help out?
Seriously, I hope you are soon back to what passes for normal. Could it possibly have been something you ate?

Slopes, that's good news at last. Can't believe you've had us all holding our breff for this long, awaiting the results of your gastroscopic incursions. Phew!

Pequod, hope you are soon able to complete your relocation. I know it can be frustrating, but KBO old chap.

Byker, you need a rest, mate. No working over Easter, OK? nono

IO Low Risk TN, I have now arrived at the halfway stage of my Cardiac Rehab Programme, having yesterday completed Session #4 out of 8. My sternum seems to be getting over itself now, after a bit of retrograde progress. We victims on the programme have been offered a continuation beyond the 8-week course to continue mentored fitness training at selected local authority health centres at a heavily discounted subscription. The nominal fee also grants a "Leisure Key" membership card which allows free access to any of the local authority gyms and swimming baths.
It appears to be excellent value and I am giving it serious consideration.
I find it difficult to motivate myself to exercise at home, apart from the regular walking.
All I need is a spangled lycra leotard!
.
Have a nice Thorsday everyone, but try to keep it clean, eh?
Bobbers will be back here soon, and you know what he's like... rolleyes

The writing is beautiful I'd forgotten how good... but one wonders how it compares with our resident...

"She was a ship of the old school, rather small if anything; with an old fashioned claw-footed look about her. Long seasoned and weather-stained in the typhoons and calms of all four oceans, her old hull's complexion was darkened like a French grenadier's, who has alike fought in Egypt and Siberia. Her venerable bows looked bearded"

"She was apparelled like any barbaric Ethiopian emperor, his neck heavy with pendants of polished ivory. She was a thing of trophies. A cannibal of a craft, tricking herself forth in the chased bones of her enemies.

All round, her unpanelled, open bulwarks were garnished like one continuous jaw, with the long sharp teeth of the sperm whale, inserted there for pins, to fasten her old hempen thews and tendons to. Those thews ran not through base blocks of land wood, but deftly traveled over sheaves of sea-ivory. Scorning a turnstile wheel at her reverend helm, she sported there a tiller, and that tiller was in one mass, curiously carved from the long narrow lower jaw of her hereditary foe.

A noble craft, but somehow a most melancholy! All noble things are touched with that."

I have just received this forwarded message from a friend on WhatsApp:

"FYI
Today the radio was talking about Whatsapp Gold.
There is a video that will be launched tomorrow in Whatsapp and is called Martinelli. Do not open it. Goes into your phone and nothing you do will fix it.
Spread the word.
If you receive a message to update Whatsapp Gold * Do not open it!
They just announced that the virus is serious.
Send this to everyone you know that has WhatsApp."

How do we know whether or not the above message contains a virus? scratchchin

I was just pondering whether Bobbers was away somewhere else the last few days. I believe there was an early overnight flight from Baltimore to Heathrow. We all know how he likes playing mariner with large vessels.

I’ve completed coat number 2 on the tiles. They need 12 hours drying time before coat number 3. The paint is going on well so I’m chuffed I have done a good prep job. I reckon 4 coats and then a good old touch up following removal of the masking tape, which is everywhere.

We’re off to the outlaws this afternoon as we have arranged for one of the old Masterchef contestants to come and cook a 5 course meal tonight at their house. It was a joint birthday gift.

Weather here is a little sunny with lots of white / grey clouds. I’m hoping this holds as I have 18 holes tomorrow afternoon.

confused Shouldn't you have filled all those holes and sanded them down before applying four (4) coats of paint, Hammo?
