Well, it's "good" mow that I've managed to get the central heating working again - I thought I'd woken up in Siberia, and my boiler was completely lifeless. I then realised that the michaelwave thingy wasn't displaying the time either, and correctly diagnosed that one of the arsey-D switch things on the box where the electricity is kept had had a hissy fit during the night.

All is now well, and I'm fully functioning again. A quick breakfast, and I'll venture forth into the Great Outdoors, once the local bus stop is vacated - I made the mistake once of going out for my early walk just before the prison bus had collected the day-inmates from the local Young Offenders Institution*. I'm not making that mistake again.

IOTN, I'm sure that I heard something on the news about a chap called P-Dicky having his mansion and waterfront holiday home raided? I wasn't really paying attention, perhaps one of you chaps might be able to fill in the gaps?

Abyssinia!

Central Heating??? But... But... But... confused
Have you taken leave of your senses, D O'L? Eh?

We are now some days past the Vernal Equinox, hurtling headlong towards what we have been promised will be another record-breaking, earth-scorching, climate-catastrophic, back of the head-searing, man-made El Niño of a Summer!
We should all be attempting to keep what little remains of the last vestiges of our Winter climate to tide us over this predicted period of intense Glowball Scorchio!

Even without heating, the ambient temperature chez glenrobbo is a toasty 12 centipedes!
I have already divested myself of my seasonal thick furry onesie sleepsuit, yak hide poncho and monster feet slippers, and donned my traditional reflective silver Spandex Mankini and designer Phillipe Phalloppes in readiness for the pedicted heatwave.

It's all about Conservation of Cool, see? cool

Have a word with yourself and get with the times, man!

You'll be thanking me, come July!

This aside, I do appreciate your terminology regarding the prison bus and the Young Offenders Institute Day-Inmates! roflthumbup
Is that the Spandex Mankini you're "wearing" on your OnlyFans site? (A friend told me).

As a card-carrying Southerner, I'd like to inform the Committee that I'm in training for the much-anticipated summer heatwave, so I'm acclimatising myself. And I've got a bad back. Some of my neighbours are of the Celtic persuasion, one (Welshman) hasn't been seen since Wales lost to Italy in the Six Nations, but enjoys nothing more than a long walk in the wind and rain, another, who is Scottish, starts peeling if he stands under a streetlight for too long, so when summer finally arrives, I'll be the only one outside! Apart from Tiger Bobbers, obviously. We'll have the place to ourselves.

No further news on the P-Dicky front, but apparently many heavily-armed men were looking for something.

We've spent the day in Hastings, completed the 3 x 18 hole crazy golf courses and I can officially announce that I am indeed victorious!!! bowtie

We availed ourselves of the West hill funicular railway to ascend to the top.

The view from the top

And we braved the footpath to come down!!!

And now it's time for a kip......

I had a regular call in St Leonards for several years, and got to know the area pretty well.

Most of the area was pretty grim, although the Old Town at the far end of Hastings was charming, and home to the fishermens sheds, and the East funicular (steepest in the country I believe) up to the country park. Some pretty good fish and chips shops too, for lunch on a bench with a sea view

A particular favourite and worth a visit, just along the coast, was Winchelsea village (where Spike Milligan is buried in the churchyard), and Winchelsea beach from where you can walk along the coastline, past the nature reserve to Rye Harbour, and up into the sublime town of Rye.

Rye Harbour, Hastings, Bexhill etc etc. Many day trips were taken here, on the motorbike and in roof down cars. I lived in Ashford so it was an easy and fun jaunt through the countryside especially via Appledore. Looks like you are having a splendid time.

Glenners, yes it would be a lot easier, to paint the hornaments but Mrs H has had enough of the old tiles and she’s not for turning. Ceiling hand coving have now been painted and I’m onto sugar soaping then sand papering the tiles ready for painting tomorrow.

Well that was a crap night's sleep, awake several times, but I don't feel too bad this morning so I guess it can't have been that bad after all!!
Off to Hastings today, including 3 x 18 holes of crazy golf, our Chiropractor, who I've mentioned before is as much a friend as our chiropractor, was talking about our trip away with Mrs Bobbers when she was there last week, she told him about our mammoth crazy golf session and sent the cheapest plastic trophy he could find on Amazon to us for the winner, here I am practicing my winners stance with it!!!

Nice to see you smiling Bobbers with all that's been going on with your Dad wink

Byker - you have my sympathies, like you I don'd 'do ill' very well at all, Mrs.P5B often laughs about it but feeling crap just before I go to work at silly o'clock isn't much fun at all.

IOVVVVTN, taking advantage of a burst of sunshine this morning I gave our battered and bruised little FIAT 500 a quick wash and brush up as we're trading it in for a rather nice Abarth 595 50th Anniversary jobbie on Friday, it popped up on Autotrader on Sunday night and is almost on our doorstep, so we nipped along yesterday, took it for a test drive and promptly bought it!

Great choice of fun car.

I had a drive of a Abarth 595 Compreizione and a 695 Biposto, couldn't quite tell the difference apart from the huge turbo, they've all got the same torque and just change by a few bhp, so I'd say yours is the one to get.

Very nice

Thanks Byker - it's also a nice treat for the Mrs. as she's been dealing with some argey-bargey with her brother over their mum's probate recently. It's not lightening quick but it definitely puts a smile on your face.

Can't wait to pick it up driving

Anyone seen Peri lately...?

I imagine IvaPeribanana will be green with envy if he spots that pic!

Moustache, I have to prepare some air to fry for my dinner.

It's all new to me, and I have no idea how to use the thing yet, but if all else fails, I'll have a dekko at the destructions.

Using Crunchies like chop sticks to eat Mini Eggs isn't recommended.

It just isn't, okay?

Just accept it and stop questioning everything.
