LET’S GO.

It felt like a squall line came through the reading area yesterday. Massive rain, and a sharp drop in temps. We were collecting fish and chips and the water was coming back out of the drains and everything. Lovely autumn morning today mind.

I went for a walk just before it arrived, turned to head back north half way and was greeted by the end of days approaching me. Got back home 30 seconds late hehe

No snow yet here in Toronto. Have winter cars are scheduled for winter runs starting Oct 23 and others going to storage. As usual here the first days of snow will bring a lot of accidents. No snow tires, people with big SUVs and pickups in particular who don’t leave enough space .

I have my usual dog trip to drop my dog in Arizona for the winter-3700km. This trip is 90% winter conditions as the drop into warm desert conditions only happens in the last couple of hours when I drop from 7000ft in snowy Falgstaff down to 2000ft in Scottsdale.

Not unusual to hit storms in the way down as well as occasional highway closures on the final day.

Ah I missed the official endorsement!

Falling snow being reported quite widely in inland parts of Aberdeenshire this evening. Won't come to much I suspect but already a thin covering in the usual places.

First frost in south Lanarkshire, light scraping of the car while the heated bird did their work.

I’m usually really excited by first snowfall (saw pics of it snowing in Glassel yesterday and Glenshee the snow gates camera was white), but so many outdoor jobs still to get done I could do with a few weeks grace!

First frost of winter on the Beds/Cambs border too. I have put the heating on for an hour for the towels to dry. It’s not going on full time just yet!

I have missed the autumn weather living in Tenerife so i am staying in Kent until it gets too cold then back home to average temperatures of 20c throughout winter.

Nice to see the leaves changing on our country walk this morning then back to test the heating as it is the first time it has been on in 6 months,no frost here but glorious clear blue skies.

Frosty, but only just (-0.3) in Chesterfield first thing. Bright and sunny now with 7.0 outside.

You've broken the 1st rule of PH club. Only Puggit can open this thread. You're lucky he didn't have you taken out the back and turned mildly chilly.

nono

The accepted criteria for opening this thread is when the first snow of the season falls. Anyone could and should open the thread!

That said, someone jumped the gun, but that snow has now fallen.

Just got home from London. Bedroom is 14 degrees. Heating is on!
