Never commando. I st far too frequently and you can never get the perfect wipe.

I'm surprised this thread still has legs.

Christmas and post Christmas I bought nothing. I've thrown out a load.

What I threw out
- A load of Ralph Lauren work shirts. 15 or so.
- A load of RL polo shirts, similar number.
- Jeans, lots of jeans.

What I kept
- Lululemon trousers and any old hoodie for working from home
- RL suit and RL jacket in case I need to dress like a human who doesn't work from home plus associated trousers
- All the st that reminds me of when I was a student - flannels, denim
- About 60 coats - I really have a problem there.

Dont know if its a recent thing but anybody finding that T-Shirts seem to be shorter these days, I've been hitting the gym for a few years now so shoulders, back and chest are slightly bigger than normal but slight movement and belly is out of the bottom, I dont like super baggy T-shirts either so no point buying 1 or 2 sizes bigger. I bought a "longline" T-shirt one but it was stupidly long.
I'm finding the same thing, i'm 6ft4 to start with and I have been going to the gym for about 2 1/2 years now lifting weights which has caused the same issue, I've found Thrudark clothing is a good fit but it's expensive and limited options in terms of design and colours

For anyone interested I ended up with a bag full of CDLP briefs and socks as it was either half price or heavily discounted at Frasers.

At £14 for briefs and £10 for socks that felt acceptable for something supposedly premium quality that's made sustainably in Portugal or Italy and first impressions are good.

I wouldn't say I'm a particularly superficial person as if I was I guess I'd have gone for stuff with visible logos but I must say it's interesting how wearing nicely made good quality stuff does make you feel a bit better about the world and yourself smile

I mostly do my clothes shopping in Australia these days/mic drop

Serial though if you're larger framed they offer a lot more variety than back 'ome so if you find yourselves here check the stores out. A recent trip had me a great haul from https://www.connor.com.au/au , rarely do we visit the inlaws without a raid on https://canberraoutletcentre.com.au/stores.

Massive LoLz at the "discount outlets have different/cheaper ranges than retail" flobble. You guys have no idea how the clothing industry works, but enjoy your premium offeringsbiggrin

Been buying technical clothes this month as the sales are on and I’m hiking thro winter this year.

Montane for soft shell trousers and soft shell jacket. Patagonia r1 air fleece and 2x r2 tech fleece. First time with Patagonia and it is amazing. The r2 in particular hence buying a second a week after the first!

Thought I'd try a T-shirt from Asket as I like the idea of owning less but better quality.
Opted for regular length as I'm average height but it's way too short and barely reaches my waist. Very disappointed, can't be bothered sending it back to Germany as the Trustpilot reviews suggest it'll be a hassle.
Will keep it as a under-shirt. Shame as the quality and fit feels good otherwise.

This is why I generally avoid buying online apart from brands I know.

I have a couple of suits made from Loro Piana cloth, made to measure by a Savile Row tailor. They cost me about £1300.00 each not that long ago and they are superb. If you shop carefully you can buy superior clothes, made to your exact specification, for a fraction of the ready to wear price.

I had a look in their shop on Saturday.
I didn't see anything I particularly liked, but then that's the point; go have them make something you will like.
The tailors were busy with customers and I'd just placed an order with C&D up the road (pay on order there), so wasn't really in the immediate market for anything anyway.
I also found some shirting cloth at C&D and their prices for bespoke were so similar to Richard James off the peg it would seem pointless to ask them about bespoke.
Richard James does look to be a smart, professional operation though.

Asket and Spoke do size and length combinations for T-shirts, I'd happily recommend both.

Cad and the Dandy you say? I hope you know how to sew on buttons, because they appear completely unable to do it. All of mine fell off and I even had one ping off in a final fitting once.

Also, on the shirts, if you haven't ordered them, don't. They don't wash well and, again, the buttons fall off routinely. I have never found MTM or bespoke shirts from anyone to be any good, actually. I buy shirts from Eton and Emmett now. They wash and iron endlessly without losing colour (or buttons).

As a pensioner, I buy my clothing from an assortment of charity shops as I am unable to afford to buy new due to the amount of duty/tax/vat charged upon gin.

Wife got me a bunch of 7 Diamonds T shirts. Not crazy expensive at $40 but must admit they quality, pretty comfy and fit well

https://www.7diamonds.com/products/core-crew-neck-...

Half the price of the All Saints I usually wear (and get holes in after 2 days).

I've had to have a couple of brace buttons sewn back on trousers but they are subject to an amount of friction from the leather straps, so unsurprising to me. Otherwise always been good so far.
Interesting what you say about shirts. Have looked at both Emmett and Eton shirts but haven't found what I'm looking for that would fit.
Considering all options.

I had C&tD make me four shirts. Three of them lasted no more than two or three washes, before the collars starter to look washed out. I still have a Bengal stripe one, onto which I have had to re-sew every single button, which looks okay. Just.

What are you looking for shirts-wise?

Various, though primarily (and coincidentally) a Bengal stripe or similar with double cuffs.
I am bloody fussy about sleeve length which is at least half the reason for considering bespoke.
C&D primarily because I know one of the chaps there from another shop and trust his judgement and suggestions.
We don't always entirely agree, but his input has been invaluable at times. Both in the past and for the latest item.

Having sung the praises of Eton and Emmett, I can find no Bengals on either site! I have Bengals from both though, in different shades and width of stripe. All my Emmett Bengals are double cuff.
