At a soft play yesterday for a party. Heard a mum calling her 4 year old twins over, their names were Ronnie and Reggie.

BRAYLON yikes that's a new one. biggrin
It sounds like some sort of fabric that 1960s soft furnishings would be made of. It would later be banned because it catches fire easily and converts the air to cyanide or something.
every day is a school day...

What’s going to happen if these kids with double barrelled surnames(and forenames) marry someone? Will it become a triple barrel? What if they meet another councilista with a double barrel? They’ll sound like a Welsh train station.
This is already a thing. I used to vaguely know a chap with the surname Packe-Drury-Lowe.

Also I know a couple who both had double barrel surnames before they got married, however, somewhat disappointingly, they opted to keep their own surnames post marriage, rather than go quad barrelled.

Do you remember the days when a double barrelled surname meant that you were posh.

Now it means your parents aren't married.
The latest trend seems to be to double-barrel, double-barrell:

I'd like to disagree with this. If one wants to book the sort of tailored holidays to exclusive destinations that my folks like to go on, you need to visit a travel agent because you sure as hell won't be finding it on Expedia.....

I'm saying no, far to complicated for football fans to follow, so not council.

I'd agree with you CC - some of the holidays we'd like at are non-standard in terms of length, content etc. It strikes me as being prudent to let someone else do all the legwork (and often at a better price than you can get) and, furthermore, ensure that you're covered in the event of problems (eg. covid, airline/hotel collapse)...

The Dad was a (rather eccentric) vicar, but doubling a surname to make it double-barrelled is certainly borderline…

Overweight blokes and their other half wearing a size to small replica shirt, getting pissed up and singing ridiculous songs. Of course rugby is council.

Sod it i'd like to nominate cricket as well, anyone who sings that ridiculous 'Barmy Army' song has to be in the council club.
