What would you have done?

Our cat brought in a mouse and it was alive but clearly injured with a broken leg and other wounds, it was walking around in a circle due to it's messed up leg. I decided to put it on the pavement outside and club it with a brick. Unfortunately I was so worried about not hitting it hard enough to put it out of its misery that when I slammed the brick down onto it, it sprayed all over my slippers in a display of gratuitous violence that wouldn't have looked out of place in a 'Saw' film. But I'm glad I did it. And I'm the kind of person that feels guilty when accidentally stepping on a snail.

You do realise that placing the brick onto it and leaning on it, or standing on the brick, would have done it?rossub said:
Ah the joys of coming home from work to a dead rabbit in bits in the hallway. Eyeballs and teeth away from the body were a proper treat.
Mine dissect rabbits with psychopathic precision. To the point that it's just an empty sack of fur, but then a pile of guts for me to tread in. All bones, eyes, cartilage gone.

Strange how some cat-lovers are so outraged by people leaving or finishing off injured cats in the road yet seem to be ok with owning an animal that causes so much needless pain and suffering to other animals itself.
Another reason I don't have cats any more. Killing for fun.littlebasher said:
A frequent occurrence when i was a lad. We had two farm cats that attacked anything that flew, hopped or lived in a pond.
They would often bring their catches inside as a gift, mostly half dead seagulls and crows that had to be taken back outside and finished off with a spade.
That is literally their job. Why cats were domesticated in the first place. They would often bring their catches inside as a gift, mostly half dead seagulls and crows that had to be taken back outside and finished off with a spade.

Yes, dangerous pest hunters but also as bodyguards (or the equivalent of human guard dogs). Youtube fodder I know but cats are pretty handy:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEa6jZv-Khc

Another reason I don't have cats any more. Killing for fun.Cat 2 has few ambitions beyond the food bowl. Rarely goes out but is friendly around garden birds and other visitors.
Cat 3 is a vindictive little git and I’m sure would maim for fun if his leg injury allowed him to be quick enough to do so. When he goes out it seems his primary purpose is to get lost and/or annoy my neighbours. Not a fan of his temperament at all tbh.

Another reason I don't have cats any more. Killing for fun.I've swished two myself when driving; wasn't able to avoid them, feel a bit bad but ultimately they are out in the wild, uncontrolled by their owner and so the law is correct that you don't have to stop or report it.
Their "run across the road antics" are a great example of play stupid games, win stupid prizes, or fk about and find out.

This... talk of them killing wildlife (including protected species!) is grim.

Why would you take a photo a an Eagle dropping a rabbit too its death? I know its nature but is that something you want look at again.
Greenbot35 in the pub: I just saw an Alien Space Ship land.Greenbot35's mate: Did you get a photo.
Greenbot35: Nah, didn't bother.
If I ever see an Eagle I'm taking a photo, with or without its prey.

With the hypocrisy displayed by you, castigating someone for leaving a cat while your own cat "...caught nearly 30 small rabbits while out during the day time..." I think it's really you who should just fk off.
Err, the rabbits weren’t people’s pets you rocket. The needless killing your plaything inflicts doesn't matter, because you want Tiddles. If/when Tiddles gets squished it's about your feelings being hurt. The selfishness of the driver who doesn't stop pales into insignificance compared to yours.

The language you use speaks volumes.
