Tolerate politically motivated people. Not politicians specifically but average blokes who see politics in everything.

It used to be confined mainly to pissed old geezers boring anyone in the pub who dared look at them.

Now, given that they have internet access, they are everywhere blurting out their gormless drivel at every opportunity.

Hateful old spunkers.
Right so, you don't mind politically motivated people who align with your own views then ?

At least be honest.
Huh?

This is the kind of gormless drivel that I was on about.

In no way did I even hint at what you accuse me of.

Just try being normal.
QED.

hehe
???
A bit slow there Stella.
yes

Nice calm day; I know, I'll change the oil! A gale springs up as soon as the drain plug comes out. irked

For many years I have embraced the much lazier but ergonomic method of sucking the oil out the dipstick tube, along with the handy top of engine placement of the oil filter this makes an oil change a 15 minute job with no writhing about under the car and no dirty hot oil up your sleeve.

I know this method has disadvantages but you know.

Remembering people I've already met. I've offended countless people by saying nice to meet you to then get a funny look in return. That's when it dawns on me that I've already met them in the past. I had a full on conversation with my sister in laws new boyfriend recently about him once living in my town. Again, he looked confused when I was asking him about it. Turns out we'd already had this conversation a few weeks back. My brain doesn't seem to retain this stuff.
I always go with 'How are you?’. Covers a multitude of sins.

Gain a sense of direction.

When people ask me for directions, or talk about a trip, even on familiar roads, I've got a scambled brain as to what turning/roundabout etc is where. I can't pick it out. I have to start somewhere familiar and then go through the whole route in my head even then it doesn't always work.

I know it's somewhere I've been but I can't bring it to memory for some reason.
I think my wife must have the same issue. I can pretty much remember how to get anywhere, even if I've only been there once and that was as a child 40 years ago.

I can look at a map, and know exactly the route. Absolutely love large scale maps, and the detail.

That said, I use Google maps sat nav to get to work. So I know if there is any unexpected traffic.

I use a Lidl pump, for my wife's astra 1.6, but it won't fit down the dipstick tube of my astra 1.4T.

I wonder if that's because it needs better oil, and leaving a bit at the bottom of the sump would contaminate the new stuff.

Draining the sump's not usually the issue... Unless when I'm dragging the washing up bowl ( hehe ) out from under the car I get the motion of the ocean wrong and it sloshes over the edge.

Usually it's the oil filter. The mini and the mx5 are in awkward spots. No matter how much rag I put under the filter/housing it always drips/runs somewhere else.

That reminds me of an old girl friend who I was showing basic car maintenance stuff to such as checking the fluid levels and tyre pressures etc, one day she read the dipstick and noticed the oil needed topping up and insisted on doing the job herself so off she went armed with half a litre of oil and seemed confident enough. What could possibly go wrong performing such a simple task ?

After about half an hour she asked for some help and it was then I noticed there was a fair amount of oil on the deck, turns out she'd been trying to top up the oil via the dipstick hole rolleyes

Butter bread without absolutely f*cking up the slice of bread. Unless the butter is virtually liquid I just can't get it right.
