Thanks everyone We were very proud and will do our very best to capture the guy's reaction when he comes in. He is normally the first guy in the office but we're hatching a plan to try and get him to come in about 10am (saying the carpets are going to be cleaned or something equally as dull) so we can see, and more importantly capture, his response

So, how long did it actually take?

We reckon about 30 man hours in total. We started about 2 weeks ago (as soon as he left for his trek around South America) and did just a little bit every day and a lot on Fridays So yeah, probably about 30 man hours.

Why does he/she have a watering can on their desk??

Being the sort of guy he is, he's the generous soul that goes around the office at waters all the plants each week. (we did buy an additional watering can so we could still actually water the plants and he didn't come back to his beloved plants looking all...well, dead!)

That's certainly commitment to a practical joke. I'd have given up after wrapping half a present.

Just how much of a hum bug is this guy? That could be considered harassment....

If that is harassment then he is a lucky guy. You are joking, surely?

If they were a complete pillock then yes they might take it as harassment. But then if you take a genius thing like that as harassment then you deserve to be harassed really.

He might have a bit of a moan but he'll smile and take it within the spirit that it was meant, of that I'm sure!

Plus, and here's our caveat; full approval of HR and VP!!

Inspired, absolutely inspired.

Is the carcass of the drawer units done, and the inside faces of the desk? I reckon he may be removing wrapping at easter.

Just in time then for a bunny and chick themed decoration job.
