if [HS2] goes ahead it looks set to completely change the character of the game

We can live in hope.

I seem to recall that contingency plans for HS2-type vector interconnections were first mooted during Opium Break at the 1907 Clacton-on-Sea/Planetwide Cup Championship Tournament. They can likely be found in one of the more unsimplified regulation appendices (probably not the Rules Ancient and Modern oft-vaunted by our dear and ever-erudite marshalla, but possibly in Weathered or Muted).

Moving onward (or perhaps, backward): Harrow & Wealdstone

Must we have that debate again ? The referendum concluded with a definitive 90% in favour of abstention.

I wouldn't get too worried about HS2. The speed that the smoke filled room of shadowy figures that is the FICd'M (Federacion Internationale Crecent de Mornington) move at it will be 2022 before they think to petition against it anyway. The last thing we need is a Select Committee riding roughshod over Gerrunds 1965 treatise and variations of the Modern and Ancient rules....

(I'll scoot up to the top and see if the refreshment bar is open. Lovely view. Tea and a rum baba? Don't mind if I do.)

Thats right! A series of interlinked levers and switches enacted to move a switchable rail controlling the direction of railway traffic.

Richmond.

According to Stovold's definitive edition, the next player needs to throw a double six before playing their joker to avoid Fairlop.

Chalfont and Latimer.
As an impartial observer, it should be obvious that a Joker play on C & L is invalid as contemplated by Eyre 6.1.3 (b) 1982. The initial Chalfont Joker play was considered - initially - as a clever reverse pincer, but Eyre showed that the move was irretrievably blunted by the little known Shape Code 11.

As you were.

Presented with all that hustle & bustle, It initially appeared to me only the remnants of two natural options were left open:

i - the Llanelli Gambit,
ii - the Cornish (Truro) Defence

Please forgive me for playing this one:
