i once spent half an hour in Ikea, while the missus was looking at cushions or something, pulling out the keys of a display desk keyboard, and replacing them to spell something

i had to think of something that didn't repeat any letters so I chose

LICK MY ARSE across the middle row

it was there for months afterwards

In fact, there's a nutter been writing vaguely political ramblings on roadsigns near here and if I get a chance I'm going to nip out at lunchtime and photograph some of it.

It's great, it begins by making political statements and gradually deteriorates into "suck my cock" or some such.

Near Cathorpe, just before the A5, someone has replaced “SLOW” with “FAST” on the entry to a bend… hehe

On the A361, as you come out of Wardington someone has changed the sign from “Max Speed 40” to read “Max Speed” hehe

During the heyday of the "xxxx rules, OK?" I saw these:

"MENSA bootboys rule, OK?" (I like the contrast of intelligentia and violence)

and

"Dyslexia lures, KO?" biggrin

Then there's the old favourite:

"Manchester Untied"

or

"I like grils"
"You mean 'girls'"
"What about us grils?"

On the A329 to Bracknell there is a sign to a dry ski slope to which someone has drawn a fart coming from the bent over skier, its not big its not clever but it does make me smile when I notice it.

I still snigger when I see "TO LET" changed into "TOILET"...

Quite nearby to that one (on the M25 clockwise at Chalfont St Peter) there's an ongoing graffiti fest on a fence alongside the left side the M40 between J1 and J2 London bound. It seems to change all the time.

The one I heard of which always made me laugh the most is a sign outside the port in Liverpool which read "Mersey Docks and Harbour Board" to which someone had added "and little lambs eat ivy."

That one used to say "Why do I do this everyday?" which was kind of imaginitive. It was painted over and I think someone replaced it with "new team supreme" or something like that. not sure what it says now though.

And for sheer inanity, "Fred the leg is a nonce" written on a bus stop near Newcastle.

Yes.

I love it for it's sheer randomness. Like the OP graffiti which so far has not been topped.

For some unknown reason, the one that said "Ron the Monkey is a sly fker" always made me laugh, near my school. No idea why.

My favourite was in a loo in a pub in Oxford though. Some imaginative soul had scrawled "I hate faggots" on the wall.

Under which someone else had written: "Really, what a shame. Try the burgers though, they're rather good.

The comebacks can be good.

I remember "Brighton Bovver Boys"

To which someone had appended "Lewes decent young chaps"
