I never saw the appeal either, but after thinking about it, in great detail for over 4years i decided i wanted that.

I would but its on my back between my shoulders just below my neck so its quite difficult to take a picture of 
Thought about it for 16 years, decided I wasn't going to change my mind, so now have 4, and still want more (they tend to get addictive)
Don't care if people don't like them, don't care what they are going to look like when I am 80, I like them, I wanted them, I paid for them and they are on my body.

Yes, I have 3:
1). on the right arm I have a tribal "half sleeve" if you picture George Clooneys tattoo in 'From dusk till dawn' and cut it off at the shoulder and elbow your spot on. It has absolutely no meaning to me I liked it and got it, I dont regret it, in fact I am getting it extended slowly but surely.
2).Left arm I have a celtic cross from shoulder to elbow (this has meaning to me but wont tell anyone, its personal)
3). Left inner forearm I havearabic transcript (I had it translated in Iraq AND Egypt and bot answers were the same)
I don't care what it looks like when I am old, I like tattoos, each to their own I say.
But I would never get anything that cannot be covered with a long sleeved shirt.
