Was hoping to go but typically have Overtime booked in for the first 2 days and am on shift for the 3rd anyway.

Gutted as I really fancy it this year.

Missed another session with Kamil on Tuesday as I was busy and didn't see the text for a cancellation slot. Although I'm still a bit sore anyway so maybe it wasn't a bad thing, as I'd most likely have just gone and hoped for the best yikes

Sent an email last night about getting my sleeve done. Hopefully get booked in early next year.
Not had a reply. I'm aware people are busy but what do you think is a reasonable time to wait before a follow up In my experience 72 hours is reasonable time to wait.

In fairness Basia is in the US and... the temp girl is trying her best hehe

My GF booked a session, last time there, for December and only today realised it's not for a Weds, but a Monday which she can't do. This is because someone was (still) looking at the wrong year in the calendar...

Maybe send a chaser, or wait until Basia is back and sorts it out.

What have you got planned?

Ahhh my mistake didn't mean Kamil it was Leigh Oldcorn I emailed. I love Kamil work but I'm a BnG fan and gone down that route.

I'm a big fan of Diego Azaldefgui but he is very traditional and not to everyone's taste. He's based in Leeds. Let me know what you think.

I was at Kamil's and he tattooed my pit

Now to me; the layman that is beyond a tattoo. It's so well done it looks like a transfer or a painting rather than a 'conventional' tattoo I'm familiar with.

I'll take that as a compliment smile

Had to turn down another cancellation session with Kamil next week as it was on my sleep day between nights and experience tells me that's a bad idea. Should get one soon though at the rate they're coming up. This will be to finish the top of the armpit.

I've spent most of the morning researching and pinning hand tattoos... scratchchinbiggrin

Yeah, please do - the quality is very apparent (of the tat not your pit)

Its like some paintings ive seen - they have been so good I've mistaken them for a photograph

Managed to catch up with Kamil at the convention whilst he was about to start a large chest piece. He's just bought some nice American muscle car, could be an Impala or something and is starting out on a restoration and mega 650hp engine project!

He's doing some great stuff at the moment, especially if you fancy some horror styles:

I still haven't finalised a theme for my next one, as I can either get Kamil to do it, or Ryan Evans who's at the same studio. Ryan's stuff is more realistic, but less quirky so I guess I need to nail down the design first!
Here's one from Ryan recently.. It'll be interesting to see how this lasts over time as that's a lot of black!

Thunderbird. It's lovely. And huge.

Prefer the RS5 though biggrin

He is doing some great stuff, love how his style is improving/changing. I was chatting with a Kiwi guy with work by Bugs & Paul Booth last night - again interesting to see how much Bugs' work has come on over the years!

I love this recent work by Kamil

And both Ryan's and Sebastian's stuff is great.

I'm really keen again at the moment, can't wait to get more done. Will be in there Weds with the OH getting more back piece done. Feeling jealous no doubt hehe

ETA - Dave was it you that had some galaxy/stars work done?? I forget and am too lazy to search wink

Lazy Git hehe

Yep.. here's mine, 1 year on. Some minor tweaks i'd like to make if I do go back to Kamil, but love the strong colours. I saw some of Carlos Torres' work at the show and that was mind blowing for black and grey. Having won 3hrs free at Kamil's studio, i'm inclined to start another big piece but haven't settled on a theme so I might use the 3hrs just to add to the shoulder piece, maybe add something below the planet and head towards the ribs (ouch!)

Johnny.. have you got your back piece designed now?

Haha, yep wink

Looks great! Have thought about some kind of galaxy theme for a while, and been adding stuff on Pinterest all morning... Just need to figure out where! Kind of thinking of full left leg...

Kamil did me a design a while ago, yes. Might make some changes to it, go with it, or do something totally different in the end... Want it to tie in with what I have and obviously into any leg piece.

I should have a pic of the rough sketch. I'll try and find.

Oh, and you should definitely go for the ribs hehe

ETA - OK, found it:

Plan was for neck to arse, and down left leg. Wanted reds, golds and greys/browns/bronze... We'll see.

Been looking for more hand tattoo inspiration and came across these:

Quite fancy getting a couple as art for the house... They're about $50 and then obviously will need tattooing too, with associated costs...

Whilst I appreciate the artwork and skill in tats like that, I've always wondered what is the attraction in having horror/gruesome tats. skulls, gore etc, i.e all the stuff that would scare small children. Is it the shock value?

"Each to their own", "because they want to" etc etc, I get all of that - this is not a criticism, just wondered if anyone was able to explain the desire.
