As usual I seem to have up upsetted someone.

Why the fk not is not an aggressive answer.

I meant why not, amplified. You want something, so you bloody well do it.

Jump in both feet first screaming loudly. Well all be dead soon why whats the point in not doing what you want, who are you trying to impress with your restraint? Your peers? Randomers on the street? Because they'll soon be just as dead as you and when you get there you'll have nothing. Nothing but regrets for the life you wanted but denied yourself.

And in afew decades when your body returns to its base elements do you think you'll be judged by the grave robbers and necrophiles on the flawlessnes of you virgin unmarked skin?

Some people need to stop being so precious.

People are trying to move the thread on and I'm trying to ask (serious) questions.
You'll have Jimi after you too, asking why you're posting the same st. The fact that you aren't posting st won't matter to him, if he imagines there is any anti-tattoo sentiment there at all then that's what it will be as far as he is concerned.
So how about you answer my question then? Why ARE you posting the same st 7 years on, in a thread that you have no interest in?

I've already asked CVM the same question. Given that Ali says he asked her and Gretch about their tattoos in the pub, and given that he's been active on this thread since the beginning, one would imagine any questions he had would have been answered by now. Yet, somehow, like you, he feels the need to come back to the thread - a subject that neither of you have any interest in beyond questioning the choices of others.

THAT is what I'm getting at.
You see the thing is, I don't think I am posting st. So I can't tell you why I am posting st because I'm not. If you want an answer as to why I am interested in the motivation for tattoos, then the answer is that I am interested in the subject of motivation in general, and in tattooing in particular because it is such a permanent body modification that I'm still struggling to comprehend why anyone would even think of doing it.

Or to put it in the vernacular of this thread, I'm interested because I fking am. smile
What is there to understand?

Some people get tattoos because the tattoo(s) represents something meaningful to them.

Some people get tattoos because they think "why fk not"? and do it just for the hell of it.

Not hard concepts to grasp, although comprehension seems to be an issue for you, so maybe those concepts are harder to grasp than I give credit for.

Well, as you included an insult or two, it seemed logical to assume you were upset.

I can't speak for Jimi, and this is not aimed at you.

But if I call you a , it's not because I'm upset.

It's because I think you're a .
I totally see what you mean, and (not aimed at you) if I call you a dhead it is because I think you are a dhead. But I wouldn't do that in the course of a normal conversation, as it would distract from the issues.

What insult? You, by your own admission, are having issues with comprehension, as quoted here -

Ergo, I simply made reference to that fact. Do your comprehension issues extend to following a written exchange?

Really?

Shows how little you know about me.

Just because I question why somebody would want a monkeys face plastered on them doesn't mean I haven't got any tattoos. smile

Yes. A couple in fact. And my reasoning for having them is very personal. Firstly, one is dedicated to my wife and the second my daughter. They are very personal and the only reason I'd have a lifelong, indelible mark put onto myself.

You see, that is why I'm baffled as to why somebody would have a gorilla? Do you see now my interest now?

Whilst appreciating the workmanship I simply cannot see the emotional link to a monkeys face beyond "why the fk not", which is not really a good enough reason for me.

Its a gorilla, so its an ape not a monkey.

Sorry, but that was winding me up a little.

So all your comments about the stereotypes of tattooed dicks, your comment of "And you wonder why people look down on you tattoo wearing weirdos as some sort of sub class?" is about you?

Quite strange you would use the language you did, when you actually have a couple of tattoos yourself. You're quite clearly talking about other people there, do you include yourself in that group?
Like it or not, people do look down on tattooed people. I guess I'd include myself in that as I have a couple. I'd say there was a subtle difference between the person who is utterly covered in meaningless bilge, than the person who has some discreetly placed, sentimental stuff.

I've seen some lovely artwork on here, but on the other hand I'm not afraid to say when I've seen some totally horrifying messes.

I apologise for biting and any subsequent arguing, but I felt I was asking a question really politely and didn't feel a 'why the fk not' was particularly justified at the time.

Ironically, all this talk and seeing some of the fantastic artwork (like Johnny has, xxxx) is making me consider getting something else.

Maybe an anchor or a tarantula? hehe
