Regarding the colours. Ink Technology has come a long way. I have been reliably told by my artist that this will last for a long time. I know it may seem strange for a 46 year old to have this sort of thing, but, As i said i have been a lifelong fan of the spider-man comics and love Alex Ross art. he adds an element of realism. Each to his own i guess. I do love the watercolour style of Kamal and Johhny's Ink is a thing of beauty.

I really love the tattoos on display in this thread.

I have two tattoos, both "out of the book" designs but I love them, can remember the day I got them and can remember what my and the artist chatted about whilst he was doing his stuff. They effectively remind me of times when I had no worries as I was young, having fun and no adult commitments.

I am currently designing my third which will be a reward to myself for getting back into shape hopefully by April and also to celebrate the birth of my first son. People are going to say council estate chav, tat etc but I really couldn't care less.

The design is going to be a pocket watch (no chain for now) I want roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 and then dash's to represent each minute and larger dashes for the 5 minute increments, the hands will be pointing to 5:58 being the time my son arrived and then on the crown of the watch I want a little J to represent Jack, his name, gonna be a black ink piece and maybe the start of a half sleeve as I want this on my inner bicep and would like to have a design that represents my family, I would love to tie this together with some star signs of my family, I can see it in my mind already.

How old are you now ?

It sorta looks like the thing a teenager/early 20's would do and say. I could imagine myself doing the same then...
I'm 46.

I am booked in to start my arm sleeve in Feb and starting to get excited smile

Not sure if its been asked before but, whats the longest session you guys have had in one sitting? Had 4.5 Hrs on my lower leg and 4 Hrs on my foot/ankle but have booked a full day for my first session on my arm! I found the foot/ankle to be tough from the start, I remember thinking I couldn't have gone any longer!!! but the lower leg was fine except for the shin bone area, which was the last bit to be done. Would be interested in your experience's smile

upper back - 3 hrs
lower back/bum - 1.5 hrs
ribs & stomach - 2.5 hrs
lower leg - 5 hrs

i found lower leg to be ok - shin tingles a bit but nowhere near as bad as some bits

Longest was 4 hours on my chest, all shading though so wasn't hugely painful, up to the side of neck/along collarbone were the bits that hurt.

All day with a break for lunch in the middle will only be effectively a 3 and 4 hour (roughly) session back to back.

10 hours on my arm, wasn't that bad once the outline was done.
7 hours on my thigh at a Tattoo Convention, even worse as you have to sit and look happy as people mill about.
5 hours on back of calf and shin, the shin wasn't fun!

I tend to stick to 2 hour spots these days when the Mrs has a gap in the diary, so next one will be July barring cancelations/rescheduling.

2 x 6 hour sessions on a full sleeve on my right arm.
3/4 hours on my ribs
3/4 hours on chest and joining pieces together.
3 hours on left foot
2 x 6 hour sessions lower left leg sleeve.

Out of all the places I've had done the arm was the least painful. I was sat on basically a gym style "preacher" chair. There are bits that smart like the elbow but its not to bad. Plently of small snack and some sports drinks. Sony be afraid to stop the artist or ask for a break in 5 minutes.

16hrs sat on a very small, very low wooden stool. A 30 min break after 9 hours so the artist could eat a rather dry looking sandwich then back to it.

Did you see my chest piece earlier in the thread? I have a clock with my daughters time of birth. Very similar to your idea.

I'm sure he is distraught that someone off the internet doesn't like his tattoos.
