It strikes me how similar are the physiques of the people in that Femail article.

Some decent work there. Still makes me cringe a little when I see people in their late teens / early 20's with face / neck / hands tattooed.

I'd love mine done, but even at 25 I wouldn't dare, as I don't know what my future career prospects may be or how they'd be affected by having those areas permanently on show.

Took my mum along for her session at Kamil's with Pawel today...

She was nervous, excited but nervous.

Made sure she was fed and watered and Pawel got to work.

I was worried she'd find it too painful but she honestly didn't even realise he had started!

She sat like a trooper for an hour and a half. Pawel took great care of her, I think he was bit worried too to begin with but it was a great session.

Mum is very happy with her first tattoo at 70 hehe

I had this done a while back, don't think I've posted it...as part of the ongoing sleeve. Booked in for more to be done beggining of December - above this one hence why the top isn't complete.

Picture was from when it had just been finished, quite hard to get a good pic of it too

So had my first tattoo last weekend. It's something i've wanted to do for around 10-12 years so it feels great finally jumping in. Travelled down to the tattoo workshop in brighton (thoroughly nice guys).

The piece is taken from a snowboard graphic by pro snowboarder/artist Danny Larsen..it's one of my all time favourite snowboards i've owned and ridden.

I've known I wanted it as a tattoo for a good two years, and am incredibly pleased with Jed Harwoods rendition of it...it's absolutely spot on to the original.

A few of my peers cast me raised eyebrows when i mentioned chest as a first tat, having been through it I can see why...it hurt like a bd, especially up at the top towards my neck/collarbones.

It took 3 hours all in, and I was probably about spent after 2 and a half, the last 20-30 mins was a bit of a trial of endurance. But, I did it all in one sitting, no tapping out, just got on with it...teeth gritted!

Slightly off to the left?

the photo makes it look off centre, I can assure you the design is central (depending on where you decide to take the centreline, it is after all, an existing artwork, not something that has been designed specifically as a chest tattoo).

Might be that your right breast is redder than the left. Must have smarted a bit.

Yeah painful is the word...and that image has been filtered...the actual one is waaaaay redder!

TBH i'm glad i went chest as my first tattoo, having nothing to compare the pain to was probably a blessing.

on the up side, it's healing nicely, and i didn't bleed much at all during or after.

I also have chest as opposed to back tattoo.

I can look at it without use of multiple mirrors.
