I started stretching mine several years back because I didn't want my then teenage son to do it. He took his out once I started. Then I grew to quite like them so kept them for a few years, wearing various tunnels inc these favourite alloys.

They were at 16mm a month ago. I took them out and lost one. Left them out and they've since closed right back up. So much so I wore a dainty pair of earrings out Saturday night.

(I've posted the photo because I'm an attention seeking prick)

Like your thinking. I might increase my drug and alcohol intake to prevent my offspring getting involved. Sacrificing myself for their wellbeing you understand.

Yeah. About that. In my medical opinion, you'll probably kill yourself. Whereas the worst I ever got was a slightly smelly hole...

Are we still talking ears here, or have things taken an unexpected and unpleasant turn for the worse?

That happened when you called the likes of I an 'inadequate, attention seeking prick'.

What I actually said was that I struggle to think of one person I've met with that sort of ear wear who isn't. You may be well-rounded, low-key and charming.

Out of interest why do people do it?
It's a pretty ugly thing to do.

In your opinion.

It's much like anything from choosing an ugly car, wife, house, hairstyle... what one chooses to do and their personal likes aren't really for you or I to question. We all have opinions yes, everyone has their own reason for the choice they make. I've posted mine already.

Well I can safely say your ears look better as nature intended them.
If I'm in a minority then I'll just sit here with my normal ears.

I still can't understand why people have such an obsession on how others choose to live.

Do you get paid for this role or is it a voluntary thing? You know, the whole "arbiter of style" thing. Was it a democratic process, or are you some sort of EU-funded apparatchik?

At least "everyone I've ever met with stretchy ears is a prick" is a valid assertion based on (limited) empirical evidence. That poster might just attract pricks. He's not saying that everyone with big holes in their ears is a prick, just the ones he happens to have met, which I'm sure he will admit will be a fairly limited sample size. If the only person I ever met with gauged ears was Gok Wan I'd probably feel similar.

But to say "I can safely say your ears look better as nature intended them" is... how can I put this? Oh yeah. bks.

Yes, I can finally answer after having been interested in getting one for about 20 years. I've known for a while what I wanted and decided that I would get it done this year.

I'd sent an email to get a consultation at a shop to discuss my design but never heard back from them. Work got in the way and I never managed to just visit them. In the meantime, I stumbled upon an image on Instagram and decided straight away, that he was the person that would do the work and contacted another shop.

It's getting done at the only tattoo shop in London that I've ever been to, Into You. James Lovegrove is the artist. It's a work in progress, I've had 4 hours work, another 16-20 to go. A nice little first tattoo! It's still in the healing process, and not the best angle, but you get the idea!

I love it, another session booked for a few weeks time. I should have got it done years ago.

ps : Excuse the hairy nipple. biggrin
6 months later....it's done. This is only half of it, the inside of my bicep was completed last week, and is still healing.

I'd recommend getting tattooed at Into You, but as they're closing for good at the end of the month... I'm very happy with it. I do wish I'd made it go further down my arm, so will probably end up getting it extended at some point.

I have a few other ideas that I want for my leg now, I'm just at the beginning of a journey that will one day see me covered. biggrin

It's not bks, just my opinion, as is yours.
I just think human beings look better without massive ears (sorry Gary Lineker) that serve no purpose whatsoever.

The personality of the person is immaterial, regardless of it being Gok Wan or the Queen.

I'm sure it's very comfy in The Tower... (hopefully it's more comfortable than the bloody Guoman hotel next door).

Anyway, enough of the O/T!

Spent the afternoon at Kamil's, last minute cancellation meaning we could get in before next year.

As Mrs Johnny has got 2 on the go now, and me none at present, it seemed prudent to let her use the time. 3 hours on the sleeve she started in June.

Loads of work done in the time we had, very productive!

I've got a piece planned for my rught calf next while she finishes her big pieces, then I'll start my back.

Sessions booked all the way through 2017. Can't wait.
