My artist warned me to not use new Bepanthen, they changed the formula in the middle of last year and now it does the same thing savlon does in how it draws out the ink. (Too much lanolin?)

edit for a quick google of links:

I've not used bepanthan the last few times. Hadn't heard that.

Easy Tattoo works really well. Not greasy like bep.

I was recommended Acriflex (red tube) and also warned off Bepanthen. Once all the scabs had gone I switched to Palmers Cocoa Butter as mentioned above.

I've always kept the cling film on overnight and then cleaned it the next morning, reapplied bepanthen and rewrapped it with cling film.

I wash it twice a day, reapplying the cream etc, and do this for 3 day. It doesn't scab up and heals quite quickly.

The one time I didn't follow this procedure (a small tattoo on my leg), it took a lot longer to heal and did scab up a fair bit. Tattooists will always guide you and also say do what works for you.

I wouldn't be up for doing a half marathon so soon after though due to excessive sweating. I usually take it easy for almost a week afterwards.

Nice. Trash style. Not many artists doing this style in the UK as far as I'm aware? Don't see many about either. Who is it by?

I have one of a similar scale and style on my right arm/shoulder, but it's of a wolf, so I won't post a picture in fear of council fleece jumper comparisons tongue out

I had a Tattoo when I was 15 and love it for about 2 years. For the next 25+ years I hated my tattoo, nothing wrong just disliked it.

But after finding about cover up's took the plunge and had a cover up. 9 1/2 hours later in 3 sessions and ma very happy whit my coverup.
I took months looking into what I wanted. Rip skin, biomechanical. A few other things and very very please with the result.

after second session and below after the final session and no idea why the first pics come out sideways

Lol at the wolf and council fleece.

Yep Trash Polka.

The three stars at the back I've had for years, I wanted them still visible due to what they mean.

The tattoo itself is a reference to my marriage 8 years ago, the theme of the wedding was skulls and roses, I'd wanted something pretty much since then in a black and white skull with red rose detailing but never really knew exactly what and I couldn't find an artist that I liked/trusted, plus I also find tattoo places quite intimidating.

The person who did it is a guy called Stew Goodwin; stewgoodwintattoo on Instagram, I found him through my wife who is a client of his wife; she does massage etc, she mentioned him and his tattooing to the wife.

He currently operates out of his home, we arranged to meet up and funnily enough we were actually at college together, I told him what I wanted, he suggested a Trash Polka style and I left him to come up with something, I absolutely love it.

I'm hoping to get something on the left of my chest in a similar style in remembrance of my dad who died a couple of years ago, he loved roses and was also quite religious so I'd like to get something that incorporates his favourite rose (red) and his favourite crucifix, which I have (he hated tattoo's though; lol!).

I'm seriously considering having a trash polka tattoo done at the moment - would be my first, and getting inked something i've been wanting to do for about 10 years, but peer pressure from friends and family has put me off.

Discovered, and love the TP style - but yeah, not that many artists around at the moment in the UK!

Got a shout for a cancellation yesterday, but being the nice husband that I am I gladly gave the hours the the wiff so she could progress her sleeve.

Really good session and I love how it's coming together!

I'm in next months for a piece on my right calf. Can't wait as it's been about 18 months since I did my hand.

That's looking awesome, I take it she's pretty pleased?

Next session with Clara on Sunday - she's not the easiest person to keep in contact with via email but I *think* she'll have some drawings ready?! Or make it up as she goes along maybe...

Very excited, can't wait! And my better half has booked in for her second one in May, too.

Sleeve above is looking good.

I had my 3/4 sleeve extend to a full one, and I'm currently looking for ideas for my other arm. I do like long projects, but I also like to be able to just get a random tattoo...

So I've been adding to my right leg...I've had a bit of work done by Tomas Tomas, and Duncan X, with another slot booked with him next month. biggrinbiggrin

What do you do if you had a crap tattoo done at 18 (because thats what you do at 18), and you've been waiting to get it covered up for years. At the ripe old age of 31 its about time I had it done, but I'm worried I'm going to end up with something else even larger that I'll regret in a few years time. I want the crap one covered, but feel I'm forcing myself to find something, because I want this one covered up, not because I actually want the new piece doing.

What to do?
