Do you have a tattoo?

Glad it's not me!
It'll have been sent by an assistant. Mostly ones that haven't had any customer relation training. It's not just you. One of my tattooists wants to do a piece I've suggested but not in the location I want. We've discussed it a few times but he's not convinced it'll work for him! He only has to execute it not wear it. I can see his point to be honest, annoying as it is. Though yours could have been worded with slightly more etiquette. My artist and I are personal friends too. I've withdrawn his benefits.
Tattooists are some of the most arrogant and egotistical people I've ever met and that includes those who I consider personal friends. It's the whole "scene" thing - you fit in if you have coverage but don't if it's not the "correct" style. Just popping along to a convention and talking to some artists will show you just how strong the dhead is within lots of these people.
I've heard many stories of rudeness from artists that are similar if not worse than the reply from "dean" above. Recently, one of my colleagues had a large shoulder and back piece started by a female artist in London. It's a really nice art nouveau piece -obviously very niche.
Had a couple of sessions when artist says she's taking time off to have her baby - she tells him that she'll be off for a bit but will finish when she's back. No problem there but after 7 months, he sends her a message asking how she is, when she might be coming back to work etc.
Nothing in reply, forward a few months more and he sees her instagram is active again so he calls her up and asks to get booked in however it now seems she's elevated herself into the upper echelons of londons tattoo elite and now only does full day sessions @£800 a pop. Says her style has evolved and she won't finish his piece and try's to point him towards a friend of hers.
He's pretty gutted. More about her attitude than anything else.

At the end of the day show me an artist who isn't either this or the direct opposite and wracked with self doubt. In fact artists tend to bounce between the two with little in between.Ruskie said:

Was this D Taylor?I've had work done amd met some very well respected artists. one of them did once call himself a tattoo God, which seems big headed, but in the tattoo world, you could say that he is. He also happens to be one of the nicest people I've ever met. Ever.
Not him but if someone like Curly, who has a year waiting list, can be super nice and not up himself, there's no excuse for anyone else to be.

I like his stuff. Ghost in my House etc.
Curly? Are these 'top artists' just known by ONE name now then?! ala Prince, Madonna etc!

So I filled in an online enquiry form for an artist and got this email. Might just be me but I find the reply insulting, condescending and arrogant. I'm going to pass giving my skin over to someone to have free reign over.
If some condescending sent me a reply like that I'm would make sure I NEVER use him again and would advise anybody I knew not too either! The prick seems to think he is doing people FAVOURS by them allowing him to lay his hallowed hands on their pitiful flesh?
And I'd wager he charges like a wounded bull for bestowing his god-like skills on people!

Slightly off topic but does anyone follow the artist Michael Taguet on Instagram? He posted what is, I'm pretty sure, the most outrageous tattoo I think I've ever seen... I still can't stop laughing thinking about it. Definitely worth a Google if you haven't seen it but NSFW!
The Brazilian friend? I can't help but wonder who or what animal produces that... Usget said:

Just found it. It's, errr...., different.
