It's the future. Not my future, but someone's...audible tattoos http://worldofwonder.net/future-now-audible-tattoo...

Should probably say your mum and your boss might find it to be a risqué site.

Another six hours with Clara today.

Why did nobody warn me the chest hurts like an absolute bh?!

If it hadn't been for the chap across the room getting his full front coloured in, including nipples, I would have cried like a girl. As it was, I maintained a stiff upper lip.

Isn't it common knowledge that ribs are a big hurt zone ?

coincidentally, I showed off my large chest tummy piece to 4 complete strangers I met yesterday ,one of them is a tattooist

though so kind of knew it wouldn't be too weird.

They all liked it or pretended to just to be polite.

First ever tattoo.

8 and a bit hours in the chair with another 8hrs booked in a couple of months to complete... brilliant experience, strangely relaxing, won't be the last I'm sure.

8 hours for your first go is quite something.

You might have hated it after 8 minutes.....smilesmile

J Becerra currently with a shop in Suffolk although I first stared following him around 6/7 years ago in Essex.

He's hugely talented, I can't wait for the next session and get the detail in there!

I headed down to the Great british tattoo show at Ally pally over the weekend, and got this piece on my shoulder from Hungarian Artist Zoltan Szente.

Really pleased with how it came out, and compared to some crazy overpriced artists there, he was very reasonable.

I'll definitely go to more conventions, it's a great way of getting good quality flash from an artist you otherwise wouldn't be able to, and getting tattooed in a convention environment was a good buzz.

I'm sure I posted in here before, but can't find it.

I'm wanting to get my first tattoo. I've wanted one for years, but never got round to it. Couple of questions.

I know roughly what I want (half sleeve to start). Is it a case of taking a few photos of what I like the look of and asking them to do that? Or will they design one for me if I get them an idea of what I want (I know some people design their own, but I can do stick men and thats it!).

And secondly, can anyone recommend any places to go (or avoid) in Dorset (ideally Poole/Bournemouth area).

I'm guessing it depends on a number of things, but cost wise, how much are we looking at per hour?

Start with Instagram. There are eleventy million tattooists on there covering pretty much every style you can think of and quite a few that you can't. Find an artist (not necessarily local) who does the style that you like, then send them an email telling them the kind of themes you want to bring in, and if they like you, they'll invite you to book in for a face-to-face consultation. You can discuss your ideas some more, pay them a deposit, and they'll draw something up for you. So no stick men required.

In Dorset? I'd recommend it to anyone.

Sorry. Always wanted an excuse to do that joke. As above, look on Instagram.

Absolute baseline is about £60 per hour. I've paid £100 per hour for mine although there's been quite a lot of free work thrown in. I imagine Kamil and some other artists are a fair whack more than that, and will still have waiting lists longer than Morgan do.

Whilst it is expensive, I also think that for skilled professionals tattooists are actually pretty cheap. £100 per hour has to cover the time they spend doing your consultation, the drawing and refinement process, their training and certification, rent on the shop, and the free touch-ups they give.

Also, in total my tattoo will cost around £2k. Amortised over the next 30 years that I'm going to wear it, that's about £7 a year, so I'm pretty sure it's worth it. \

Anyone recommend a custom bio mech artist in the Surrey(ish) area?

Looking for a half sleeve, and I have a rough idea of what I want in it (Whether any of that actually "works" is a different question).

Had my consultation on the weekend. Very happy with the artist....Knows his onions on the subject matter so I left feeling very happy..

Got 3 x 5 hour sessions booked....Now the long wait till the end of July. Patience isn't my strong point but I know the wait will be worth it.

smile <----- This is my happy face.
At the half way point now....2 months to go.

Like watching paint dry.

i like conventions. we used to go to the London convention every year but stopped when it got full of the geordi shore and towie types. mrs P managed to get a nice piece from George (Sergei) Bardadim, one of her favourite artists in a spur of the moment session at a convention.
