I'm seeing Ricky Gervais "and friends" tonight. It's a warm up gig. Very strict ticket restrictions. You can only get your ticket in person, with suitable id, no earlier than two hours before curtain up.

Wonder if Gervais will be as good as he thinks he is?
I'm guessing that seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two Emmy Awards and the 2006 Rose d'Or, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination plus a net worth of $80m gives him all the validation he needs ! Well I'm back from the Gervais show. He did 90 minutes and he was excellent. Some really good riffs about the human condition. Twitter in particular. He seemed to enjoy it too.
Getting in was tough. You needed photo id and your complete party must be together. You couldn't leave the theatre once you'd entered. A bit OTT.

No you could leave during the performance. They seemed to be obsessed about tickets changing hands for money. So, once you got into the building you couldn't leave. If you did there was no readmittance.Blown2CV said:

I left part way through a performance and he stopped the show. I suppose I was third row from the stage so understandable. Couldnt take another minute.
His ability to entertain me didnt compare to a pint of Black Sheep waiting at the Dog and Duck.
