French and Saunders.

They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Well, I say it is parody, and that's all French and Saunders know.

I don't find anything that Lenny Henry has been in funny.
Not even

"Katanga!! Ah-A! Ah-A!!"

?
OK, he was funny for five minutes on TISWAS (Reeeeeeeeeally Greeeeeeat and DCM sandwiches and all that, and Theopolis T. Wildebeest was mildly amusing) and when being a black comedian was still something of a novelty.

But since then, nothing. Not a titter.

But he's big on Comic Relief, so can't be all that bad.

The advert Lenny Henry does for that hotel chain (can't even remember which one it is, so the advert hasn't worked for me obviously) makes me cringe it's so bad.

Not a funny man at all in my opinion.

Little Britain, although I appreciate a couple of your ideas were quite funny. Once or twice.

Catherine Tate, although I appreciate your one idea was quite funny, love. Once.

Cannon and Ball, they say "Rock on Tommeh", I say "Cock off cock chops"

Am I going to get flamed for saying I didn't find The Fast Show at all funny?

Indeed. Two perfect examples of how a fairly funny formula was ruined by repeated repetition.

Comedies should be limited, by law and pain of death, to one series.

All comedians are unfunny. Anyone that tries to be funny is unfunny.

But that would still have allowed one series of 'My Family'.

French and Saunders.

As a pair they are as funny as watching your leg being eaten by a rabid dog.

That's alright, you've also said that Spike Milligan wasn't funny.

So you're quite obviously mad.

That is possibly the most insane thing I have ever read. Don't be so silly.

Wow. I've just noticed I put not one, but two examples of alliteration in one sentence.

Gosh, aren't I clever?

I'm aware that lots of people liked The Fast Show and think that Spike Milligan was a genius, but I just don't get it. Especially Spike.

It's weird, and I'm a complete hypocrite but TFS I just think is absolutely top notch, it survives the repetition, although most of the funniest stuff was not the repeated sketches.

My perception is that TFS seems to be liked by gents, not ladies, the two others mentioned seem to be more equally liked by both.

(I'm a bit loathe that you quote me stating Catherine Tate is "fairly funny" though...)

Alliteration, old chap - no reflection on your comedy tastes.

Why is it silly? Comedians try to be funny, trying to be funny isn't funny, therefore comedians are not funny.

So the most insightful modern philosopher the world has ever produced, who also happened to be a comic, the legendary Bill Hicks wasn't funny?

Nor was

Lenny Bruce
Richard Pryor
Billy Connolly
Bill Bailey

And many many many others?

I'm guessing you find someone slipping on a banana skin hilarious?

Little Britain. It's just not funny.

But unfunny comedians? Alan Carr and that smug bd Jimmy Carr..... Both of whom I'd happily run over with my car - then reverse back over them, just to be sure.

Where do the Marx brothers fit in to this - they're funny.

Less funny, however - Karl Marx....
