She also told me once that a dear 'didn't even look' after it ran out in front of us and how do they train the hippos in that BBC ident.
Was it an old dear?

Loving these so far...

SWMBO and my M-I-L, both turn up the central heating thermostat and oven to the maximum, so that it gets to the right temperature more quickly - DOH!

Think that there might have been a reference to this sort of behaviour on Peepshow or something a couple of weeks ago and my missus went all sheepish and hasn't done it since, but round M-I-Ls at the weekend the oven went on and was promptly turned to max - "in order to heat up more quickly" - I think I laughed for about ten minutes.

Kinda sweet that they think like that though ain't it.

Mine refuses to believe that if she gets on the M25 and just keeps driving she'll be back where she started. And she's a teacher!
Unfortunatley for you shes right, the m25 is not a complete loop.
Err... where does it say that she would have to stay on the M25? All it says is "just keeps driving" - which is absolutely correct wink
Well of course Threesixty is technically correct; but I read it as a friendly case of smartarseikus phead-dickus which is prevelant amongst so many who haunt the dark corners of The Lounge. It's an infectious condition caused by an unhealthy interest in punctuation.

Surely in the case of "just keeps driving" it depends on which lane she favours? Does your lady drive to the left or the right?
Well, she tends to keep to the left on the rare occassions she drives a motorway, moaning that people aren't driving quick enough. The option to move to the middle lane and pass doesn't compute!

This is the lady who said, a week before the last car went back, it has 6 gears!!!!

My misses thought you had to of had 6 months on your passport to get into the states, so much so that this summer there was no chance she was going to risk a holiday there as her passport was only a few months old.

She is a teacher.

This used to be true on older ovens and heating systems. In fact the 25 year old oven in our flat warms up more quickly if put on max. So not entirely silly.

errr ... not such a silly question, as the main character in Finding Nemo is called "Marlin".
Marlin is the Dad, Nemo is the young'un who gets fishnapped. Depends on which you take to be the 'main' character. I'd say it was Nemo, myself! biggrin

It is definitely true of gas ovens, which will burn on a high flame until they reach temperature and then turn themselves down to maintain it.

There is a clue in the title ... it's a quest to locate the younger fish. Marlin is on screen something like 3 times as much (elapsed time) as Nemo and has an even higher ratio of lines. Even Dory is on screen for longer than Nemo.

Kinnel, I hope you have kids.

If not, your level of knowledge there is a little disturbing.

4. I have heard more childrens films than I have seen though, as they watch them on the TV in the car - the sound comes through the hifi so I have no option but to listen.

What worries me is that this little nugget of information is in my head (for whatever reason) along with hundreds, possibly thousands of other useless bits of rubbish. Ready to be called upon in need, but lets face it, it's a rare need. What other bits of useful information have been denied a home because I can recall the ratio of screen time between two cartoon fish?

My GF had to go to the Isle of Wight a few weeks back for work to meet other area and store managers. An email was sent round to all the staff saying what was going to be happening over the 2 days, where they are staying etc..

When she came back from her work jolly, i saw that her passport was on the table. I asked why did she have this out and she replied with "the email work sent round told us to bring our passports to get onto the IOW"

I laughed, a lot biggrin Apparently a couple of other people had been caught out by this too biggrin

Yep -

and it does not matter how many times you try to explain it it is the same.
Ditto the Car-
set it to 22Deg, and Auto. It WON'T blow until there is some warm air.
SWMBO obviously knows best.
MAX Temp, MAX fan.

that'll do it rolleyes
I get that one all the time too. No matter how many times I explain.
Nope. Temp to Max.
Same in summer. Can't leave the ACC to work it's own magic and cool the car to say 20deg C. Temp down to Min. ACC is wasted on them. They just need a good old fashioned heater temp control so they can play away to their hearts content.

I pointed out to my ex where the wing mirror control on our new car was. She said it didn't matter cos she never used them....

Same one said she was going to ride her new bike to visit her mum living about 15 miles the other side of Manchester - asked her which was she was planning on riding - "same way as we go in the car," came the reply. She was shocked you were not allowed to ride a bicycle on the hard shoulder.

Same again called me a toad, I said nope you're a toad, she said I can't be a toad cos all toads are male, and all frogs are female!!! "So how do you explain Kermit then?" I replied. She thought about it for a few moments........ smile
