Sat down to play on the Xbox and told the mrs il come off and make dinner at 7pm. I keep glancing up at the clock on the wall. She says

'Why do you keep looking at the clock? It's not going to change'

Followed by

'Are you going to put that on pistonheads'

I said "like Emily Pankhurst"

she "I don't think Emily Pankhurst was as thin as that"

Watching Luther on Netflix, the scene pans out to a flat with some rather large windows, "I'd love to have that, a wall made from glass in our flat," she said, to which I replied, "what, a window?"

Well they sort of are; the children of the same mother will share their mitochondrial DNA, the children with different mothers will not.

No I accept mitochondrial DNA is passed from mother but it makes up such an insignificant amount it's irrelevant. Google suggests 0.01%.

I was about to start the chainsaw yesterday when the Mrs pointed out there was a leaf caught in the chain. She quite happily accepts it'll cut through a foot of wood, but thinks a leaf will cause problems biggrin

That's a good one! hehe

... Unless she works for British Rail, in which case a leaf on the chain could cause big delays!

Watched some program about the existence of mermaids last night with my girlfriend when we began discussing the best way to find them

She came out with 'Well why don't they just drain the water away and see whats in there'

'Err yes love drain all the worlds oceans, I wonder why nobody has thought of that'

Karen Matthews thought that out of her brood, the 2 children she'd managed to have that shared the same father were twins, even though they were a year apart.

The volume of water on the surface of the planet is a tiny % of it's total mass.

Sure it wouldn't be too hard to drill down and let it drain away wink

Drill down too far & you reach the molten part-water falling onto that will just cause a lot of steam..that will form clouds, that will rain,so cause a continual cycle smile
