He definitely confirms it was near Sutton Bonington. I think Newton is more likely seeing as though the pictures on that website are more like the ones he showed me than the ones I'm seeing of Wymeswold on 28DL, which looks totally derelict with no machinery, locked doors or vehicles left around, or even a roof on the buildings.
The munitions factory/store at Ruddington is considerably closer and is between L'boro/Notts. The railway was kept open as a spur when the rest of it was shut down to carry on servicing it. Its now under the country park/transport museum.ETA - I'm pretty sure it was Newton, simply because the more I see on UrbEx websites, the more looks familiar. I especially recognise this sort of thing from his snapshots:
And seeing things like this left behind really freaked him out:
It seems it's been fairly well covered by other UrbExers, must've been terrifying at night, and apparently is now being flattened to make way for a new housing development.

Guess I'll just have to accept he walked a long way then!
We do go on pretty big hiking holidays (17 miles a day for a week through mountain ranges) so that kind of distance isn't really a bother to us.Pesty said:

Off the back of this thread I phoned him up last night.
Once he finds them, he's emailing over the photos
Have you got them yet? Once he finds them, he's emailing over the photos
All these pics are great the more the better

Twincam16 on that last pic- I know theres something plastic poking out the end but it is definitely a spent 9mm case isn't it? Its been struck/used. Who was firing a handgun in there?!!
According to the original caption it's some kind of training blank.Silent1 said:

Derilict office block where i work they're listed so won't be knocked down..
Pictures taken by me after the floods of 2007...It's all marble and mahogany
still partially flooded cellar, it took a fair bit of pumping out, normally it's all locked up tight but had to be left open to pump out and then to dry out..
Barnes Wallace was reputed to have stayed on the top floor here whilst testing of the bouncing bomb was taking place..

we NEED to see those photos!
I know! Annoyingly he's not on PH and I saw them on the screen on the back of his camera...Twincam16 later said:
...they were taken on a "film" camera as opposed to a digital, so when he says "find them" it means turning his flat over as opposed to delving in to his hard drive.
I though all cameras with screens on the back were digital.hadenough! said:
