Looks fine on my screen and phone. I couldn't move too far back as it's surrounded by houses and bits of the railway still in use.

just stumbled across this thread- some facinating pictures.

Anyone heard about no mans land fort, out at sea?

now this would make an awesome urban exploration:

Anyone want to get a rowing boat and some cameras?...

You won't need a rowing boat - I can see that fort from my front room! If you want a closer look get the car ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight, it sails right past it! There's a few of them round the IOW all not very far offshore. A couple of times a year at low spring tides the locals walk out and touch the one just outside the entrance to Bembridge Harbour. If you time it right you can get all the way, touch the wall and walk back without the water coming above your waist! smile
I touched one of those when I was in a small fishing boat years ago! Didnt someone buy one to make into a hotel or something then never did? Or someone lives in one maybe?

Train pictures really interest me, must be from all the train set fun of my youth, smile

Have they never thought to fill one with coal and water and grease it up and see if it still runs?

Ooooh Creepy. Love it thumbup Looking forward to photos.

Just (sortof) reminded me:
We explored an old sewage pumping station many years ago. You know one of those small huts that are dotted about the countryside.
Shame we never took photos but this was well before digital photos.
Anyhow, all I remember is opening this door, turning on the light and looking down into this vast expanse of darkness with stairs that went on forever.
It was not until we moved down to the next platform that we noticed that the stairs were infact leading down into the sewage water itself and we were infact in a VAST underground tank yikes We bid a VERY hasty retreat.

The tanks were certainly very cool looking on the inside, there was a few other buildings on site with some boilers, electirical stuff and a lot of pipework.

Heres a couple more, still got a few i havent had a look at yet.

Found the abandoned lorries in the old pumphouse for the site, must of been used as a garage at some point as there was a ramp there as well.
