My old man is/was master of his lodge, always encouraging me to look into it more and basically wants me to get involved.

I couldn't be less interested if I tried. I've been to 'Ladies night' (what a load of bks) and it was just a bunch of stuck up old wkers massaging their egos.

Sorry to anyone who genuinely does good in their respective roles (my Dad does ALOT of charity work), but many of the people I met were just their to 'get away from the witch at home'.

Haha no... As my dad was the Grandmaster of the Lodge (or something?) his 'Lady' had an evening for her where all the gentlemen could bring their partners (and the Grandmaster's family? I assume so as myself, my other half and one of my sisters went!)

And before we start a bidding war, I directed Mike to Sindlesham for more information. If he is interested in Windsor, I am happy to answer all the questions I can, but I know the proximity of LoI is important for anyone who hopes to get the full experience from a lodge.

Mike, you now have three people who can offer you additional information. Perhaps we can nominate a pub somewhere and have a chat. I would suggest the Fifield Inn, in Fifield, but if you we can find somewhere central, you might get us all along for a beer/chat. (Did I mention beer?)
So when is good ? Sometime in the next week?

In the interval between your first and second post, your dad seems to have been elevated from "Master" to "Grandmaster". Rapid promotion indeed.........

OK folks, how about Tuesday night? Does that work for you? Sometime around 8:00, as that will give me time to get home from London.

As for a venue, anyone have an alternative. I suggested the Fifield Inn, but am willing to go anywhere, if there is somewhere more central? Mike, as you are the one calling the shots, care to suggest somewhere with parking?

Like I said, I'm not interested. All I know is he had a night for my step mum and we were invited. No need to be picky...

Tuesday 8pm sounds good to me. I'm in Beaconsfield, so reasonably easy access to those places. Marlow is, however nice with a couple of decent places to drink/eat

As far as I know and in all workings a dull head the day after an Instillation is actually a requirement!

IIRC there was more than one line for IG at the end. Granted, could be different workings...or I just can't bloody remember hehe

There is every reason to be picky, seeing as you are the one making the disparaging comments about people going about their perfectly respectable business.

As I said, that was my experience. I also apologised to anyone who did genuinely good things with their lodges as I know there are many out there.

It's my opinion from a personal experience.

Freemasonry isn't for everyone so I wouldn't worry about it.
