I put a cut off Kellogg's packet on the rear spokes of my lads bike last year. He thought it was immense and all his mates copied him. It's great to see that the simple things never die out regardless of the relentless march of technology pervading every corner of our lives.

No way! I had one of those.
Anyone remember shrinkydinks which came free in shreddies? Sort of plastic picture which shrunk when put in the oven.
I remember those, we used to think if we used crisp packets they would do the same, sadly of course they just set on fire!Anyone remember shrinkydinks which came free in shreddies? Sort of plastic picture which shrunk when put in the oven.
There would be no way they could ever sell, let alone give away for free something for kids, that could potentially scold or burn them these days.
On the same subject, I still have bags of toys that we used to collect from cereal packets back in the 70's.
Does anyone remember the one that were brightly colored totem pole parts that you collected to make one big totem pole?
Can't recall what cereals packs they come from though?

I still have some of these at my parents house too:-There would be no way they could ever sell, let alone give away for free something for kids, that could potentially scold or burn them these days.

A couple of things really brought this home a few weeks ago.Somebody on the radio referred to a song from the 80s as an "oldie".
If Back to the future were remade today - and Marty travelled back 30 years like he did in the original - he would arrive in time to see the original Back to the Future coming out at the cinema.
Speaking of BTTF - somebody needs to get their finger out and get those bloody hover boards and flying cars invented pronto - they are due out next year

If they did it now, they'd be using a 1989 Cadillac!

For me, if back to the future were made now and a modern day Marty went back 25 or 30 years I don't think the changes would be as marked as in the original film. Of course there would be significant differences but I don't think as much. Somebody on the radio referred to a song from the 80s as an "oldie".

Had a pair of Air 180s and Hexalites, though they were mainly blue.My pair of Reebok Pumps were the AXTs:
Also had these (took ages to save up for)
And these Air Tech Challenge 4s
I spent my pocket money and odd job money on literally nothing but trainers in the early 90s and would spend all my time cutting out pictures of trainers from leaflets picked up at local sports shops and then plastering them all over the cover of my school books.

My best mate from school had Reebok pumps, sadly my parents weren't particularly flush so I had to make do with normal trainers; usually Puma's.
I would take all my £1.50 a week pocket money and then save it immediately and use to buy trainers when new ones came out. Really taught you the value of something when you sink a year's worth of pocket money into it!Looking back, maybe I should've kept them, probably be worth a mint now!
